So, you're saying he is the right wing Michael Moore?

I'd be more sympathetic if you weren't constantly hurling names at other people, Governor Fatty Fatty Fat Fat.

"There are some people who are just - you know, incredibly nasty and ugly and horrible," he said in an unusually candid glimpse at his personal battle of the bulge

He's been looking at himself in the mirror again.

No, I actually respect what Chris Christie says sometimes. I have no respect for Michael Moore.

Channel all that anger and shame, Mr. Christie, and start EATING LESS. Jaysus.

People will stop calling you fat if, you know, you aren't.

People aren't prejudiced against fat people. People are tired of getting squeezed out of bus, train and airplane seats by fat people. People are tired of fat people waddling slowly through the hallways and blocking everyone else. People are tired of fat people smelling like a musty hog rendering plant. People are tired of fat people getting sick and injured and raising their insurance rates.

People are tired of fat people whining all the time about how they're so put upon while slurping down a 72 oz sugary drink with one hand while stuffing a pound of cheesecake in their face with the other.

If you don't like people being annoyed at your fat ass, stop having such a fat ass you hopeless pile of quivering goo.

You know how some people ask, "Do these pants make me look fat?" I wonder if Christie ever asks, "Do these comments make me look stupid?"

Christie said he mostly encounters cruel and hurtful insults on his Twitter feed.

[welcometotwitter]

Christie wouldn't rule out running for VP.

"If Governor Romney picks up the phone and calls, you have to answer the call and listen at least," he said on CNBC.

STFU. Christie has ruled out running as Veep at least a dozen times that I've heard to date.

If he's backtracking from that now it could mean the GOP-E are putting pressure on him to reconsider.

So... you respect someone who has no qualms about verbally abusing people in public, but then whines like a schoolgirl when someone politely calls attention to how his own obesity reflects his degeneracy.

Ooookay.

Well you are probably a democrat and therefore can't tell the difference between criticism based on what someone says and criticism that must be because someone is black or fat etc....

I said sometimes, not all the time. you can respect an opinion of someone who is normally an asshole if it does turn out to be the right thing. For example, when he appointed a Muslim judge, he shouted down all the questions he got about Sharia law as crazy and he appointed the man for being a good judge. So, you're telling me I shouldn't respect that opinion, because a bunch of his other opinions are retarded?

Wasn't Christie swearing up and down a few months ago he would not accept a VP slot?

Now I see him saying he is "open to" a VP nod, that Romney "might be able to convince me", and if Romney wanted to talk to him about it "you have to answer the call". Exactly when did the plus-size pirouette occur?

Every time I see him, the phrase "Get me a bucket" pops in my head. Yes, you can't live without food or water, but try slamming two gallons of water and see where THAT gets you.

Oh, come on! A fat conservative? You're joking. Conservatives are full of self-discipline and bootstrappy ruggedness, ready to defend America from its enemies at a moment's notice, living off the land like Wolverine-style guerrillas to fight Obama's socialism. There can't be fat conservatives.

Heh, that reminds me of this one sketch they did on The State where the cast tried to get invited to the White House.

Kevin Allison: "We could probably ALL fit into Taft's old bed!"

(Text appears on the screen reading: "William Howard Taft, at 332 pounds, was far and away the heaviest man ever to occupy the Oval Office.")

I call bullshiat.

I'm not a trim guy, but I'm not Chris Christie huge. But I did find myself approaching 300 pounds at one point, and I knew I had to do something. So I put myself on a diet, and through discipline and willpower, got myself down to about 230 inside a year. I've put a little bit back on since then, but I'm still nowhere near 300.

You can't go without eating, but you can go without seconds. And that's all it takes, sometimes.

/I highly recommend The Hacker's Diet; it's math-intensive, but it worked for me

Christie's an asshole, but he's not "right-wing" by any measure. I've seen enough derpery to know a normal Republican from a "right-winger". He'd be a RINO in many parts of the country.

On another note: I remember reading an article about Christie recently, and there was a picture in there of him in college. He was actually pretty in good shape! Like actually skinny! I think he was on the baseball team or something. I think it's law school that did him in -- one of my best friends gained something like 20-30 lbs in law school. I don't think that's enough to turn a skinny baseball player into Jabba the Hutt, but it may have started him down that path.

FTA: "You can go live every day without drinking. You can live every day without taking drugs. You can't live every day without eating," he [Christie] said.

When Christie goes into a restaurant, he orders everything on the menu except for the items labeled "THANK YOU", "PLEASE" and "COME AGAIN." I do believe THAT is his eating problem.

If Christie gets the VP nomination odds are 60/40 he has a heart attack on the campaign trail.

I try to soften it up by coming up with new phrases like "morbidly jolly."

Well that and the fact that fasting is not unheard of. I didn't eat one day a year growing up (Ash Wednesday), the muslim kids at school had it harder during Ramadan (but they could eat at night) etc. We all survived, taught self restraint, empathy with those actually hungry, etc. I actually still observe Ash Wednesday even though I'm an agnostic adult.

Anyway, I gained weight at first when I worked in politics (rush rush have a second grab delivery menus for lunch then fast food or bar or diner food once you drag yourself out of the office cause it's midnight...)

Then this sweet volunteer started buying farm stand fruit for us for snacks, I realized how much money I spent out on crappy food and taught myself to cook quick dinners, etc.

Christie could take the initiative and focus on simply adding more local fruits and veggies - hell, the ag groups would love it - and filling up on those. But he may have retreated too far into comfort food 24/7 territory at this point.
