yeah, the thing about that is, when the oldest person in the world assumes that title, they are already incredibly old. at that point, it's not likely that they'll live much longer. it's not unlikely that The World's Oldest Man/Women will die every month or so. so, i mean, it's not really news unless they had a particularly good run of 120years or so.
