The only breeders in France are Algerian or muslim in general

In 2005, with words like this, your ass would already have 10 Company men sniffing around in it.

since when do pedophiles of any sort care about marriage or the law?

how are you supposed to raise a family when you don't even LOVE your own kids

LectertheChef: They had civil unions before, enjoyed nearly all the rights of married couples, except for adoption, and maybe one or two other things. Straight couples also have access to the civil union thing, for whatever reason.

That's because the French government doesn't recognize religious ceremonies. You can have a "church wedding," but you still have to go before their equivalent of a justice of the peace.

France has actually always been surprisingly uptight about certain things. Moreso than most Americans realize, but I think that goes back to WWI, with the French being so much friendlier to black American soldiers. Most of those guys thought France was paradise compared with what they had back home. So, Americans just assume that France is some sort of free for all orgy.

Yes. We want Washington to force the hicks in the South to give equal rites to citizens of the United States.

I suppose you think the states should have been able to vote individually on things like segregation? Southern states MIGHT have finally voted against segregation by now. It might have been a race between them and South Africa. All Americans should be entitled to equal rights. Some Americans should not be more equal than others because they happen to live in a backwards state.

It'll happen quicker than that. If Obama is re-elected, there will be a legal challenge on DOMA and the Justice Dept will only do the least it can to defend against it. The Supremes will hear the case and they will find DOMA and the bans on same-sex marriage at the state level unconstitutional, likely under equal protection.

I know this current court is extremely conservative, but they're also very pro-individual rights. It's basically the same court which struck down ALL sodomy laws a few years ago.

Considering like only 1 state has passed it by popular vote... 10 years is wildly optimistic for 3/4 of the states.

California will probably be legal if only for court rulings. New York I could see going for it very soon.

Hell, Hawaii, probably the bluest state in the nation has gay marriage ban in their constitution! Though, I could see that changing within 10 years.

But beyond those three states? I don't see many more.

/Sad as that is.

Actually they're two seperate things. There's marriage, and then there's the civil unions, which they called PACS (pacte civil de solidarité).

From French to English, "LeBron James" roughly translates to "TheBron James." Stay tuned next week when I translate "Matt LeBlanc," which is about one order of magnitude more difficult to translate than the previous entry, which if you don't remember, was "LeBron James."

To add another wrinkle, since the 1789 Revolution, French law has separated legal and religious marriage, to the point that traditionally couples had two services: the legal one recognized by the state and the religious one recognized by the church.

More recently, many French couples skipped the (expensive and pointless) religious ceremony and only went through the legal one.

Same-sex marriage creates MORE married people.

Unlike divorce which creates LESS married people.

You really want to defend marriage? I have an idea.

Hell, Ireland's got it planned. Mother farking more Catholic than the Pope Ireland will have same sex marriage before we do.

Actually the Catholic Church's infulence in Ireland is a shell of its former self.

Guess that what happens when you diddle little boys and then try to cover up the whole thing.
