Organic Chemistry: Come on chemistry jokes!

It's just photons hitting an atom, nothing to get excited over.

Organic Chemistry: Forgive me, being organic chemistry, you probably like the mechanism of your jokes to have a radical substitution in them.

Uggghhh... Any more jokes like that, and you're grounded! We'll have no more of that sulfur, hydrogen, iodine, and tellurium here!

You are right. I should have figured that this would be such a polar discussion. I'll do my best to ketone.

I love articles which talk about an amazing image which neglect to include the actual image in question.

Sure, it's a particle now. But turn your back on it for a second and it's all acting like a wave, listening to wave music, and hanging out with other waves.

I concur. Science articles always make me cringe. This is why I need to be on TV and fill Bill Nye's shoes.

"If we change the frequency of the light we shine on the atom by just one part in a billion, the image can no longer be seen," Professor Kielpinski said.

Wow, it's almost as if the electronic transitions are quantised.

Actually, snark aside, that is pretty cool to see experiments so closely conform to theory. It's nice to get something right every now and then.
