Read the comments, they're in full meltdown.

The comments are the usual comedy gold.

I didn't know we called them "The Stupid Party". The commenter seemed OK with it, so maybe we should.

Also, that "Flag as offensive" button was just sooo tantalizing. I resisted, though.

Haha, the GOP freaked after that poll showed a big jump in support for the now unquestionably constitutional bill.

How small is that corner they are painting themselves into?

Will they have any room left to actually Govern in any meaningful way?

They haven't had any room to actually govern since '10. Or if they HAD room, they sure as shiat haven't been using it.

What he is actually saying is, "it isn't going to be easy."

The reason that is the new talking point is to
a) downplay expectations
and
b) rally the base to help them doing it.

Anti-government conservatives can't govern because of the same reason vegans can't make a good steak, etc.

DINO in name only, then show a picture of a raptor riding a shark or something.

I clicked simply to look for cries of "RINO!!!" I found them, starting just 4 comments from the top.

...and the typical RINO weasel words commence, from a typical RINO weasel. Isn't it about time to primary a few more of the old porkers out of office?

OMG!!! He realizes this is probably a losing battle and is adjusting his expectations accordingly!!! No true leader would ever do that!!! He's not one of us!!! RINO!!!!

Some of those comments are umm....interesting. Like the ones about Mitch being a closeted homosexual. They were saying the same thing about Roberts. Why do the derpers make some connection between the healthcare reform law and homosexuality?

If given control of the Senate next year, McConnell said he would support using budget reconciliation rules to repeal it. Doing so would prohibit Senate filibusters and require only 51 votes to succeed. In 2010, Republicans lambasted Democrats for relying on these rules to pass the health care bill, calling their tactics unusual and hyperpartisan.

Didn't the Republican say this was illegal, when the Democrats were using reconciliation just to change a small section of the ACA law? Now they feel it's ok to do it with the entire thing?

I know Republicans never shy from hypocrisy but I still like to point it out.

I think the New definition of RINO is simply someone who is not completely batshiat insanse and is able to be reasonable on some level.

Here's the rub of that... by the math now, Romney's chances aren't looking great... so even if the Republicans did control the house and Senate, and even if they did either use reconciliation or change the filibuster rules to prevent the very kind of douchebaggery filibustering they've been engaging in... the bill would still go to President Obama... and I somehow don't think he's gonna sign off on letting tens of millions of Americans needlessly suffer and die just because it's popular with idiots.

There's a poetic justice to the possibility of McConnell getting primaried on his reluctance to take on Obamacare now that it's constitutional and rising in popularity. He worked so hard to stoke the flames and drive the teabaggers into fits. Now, he has to tell them to pick their battles instead, and that same pent up, impotent rage could see them take a shot at his leadership position, if not his seat.

Uh, wtf is the alternative? That's true for anything. If you can't afford to buy something, you forgo buying it. If you need socks, you either purchase socks or forgo buying them.

Yeah. I'm looking at the numbers too on the presidential:

A) Obama's lead is not big - But it's steady! It's be harder and harder to move the poll numbers meaningfully for awhile the longer they are consistent.

B) Obama has an electoral college advantage. - The numbers I have seen show that even if Obama was to have a 50/50 population split he would still win.

C) Obama's numbers now are actually better than they were 4 years ago.

D) People's view on Romney's business background is now negative. -- for once the Democrats have taken the fight to someone and what was perceived as a strength is now a weakness.

The only caveat I have is:

E) Romney and his PACs will have a shiat ton of money.

But to me, it seems unless Romney can find a new tactic against Obama that isn't only a temporary outrage, he doesn't have much chance.

For some reason as of late the media decided to stop lying about the bill in the name of balance and just tell people what is in and not in it.

So, instead of being forced to forgo buying health insurance because they can't afford it, millions of Americans will now be forced to forgo buying health insurance because they can't afford it..?
