MrEricSir: Who needs forests when you can have cheap, poorly designed furniture that lasts 3 months?

My friend calls IKEA and products of their ilk "Glit". It's a contraction of Glue and shiat.

FreetardoRivera: Rude Turnip: Fark IKEA, BoConcept is where it's at for quality Scandinavian furniture. They price their furniture like Apple prices their computers, but the quality is stellar. Plus, they deliver it and assemble it for you. I purchased this sexy biatch in black:

IKEA is not suppose to be quality.

I'm not understanding the point of your comment. That other more expensive furniture exist and that it is of higher quality?

At this point I'm just trying to justify the price I paid for that piece of furniture :-)

Do they cut those trees down with an Allen wrench?

We have an Ikea bed frame that we've had for about 20 years. But as a counterpoint, I bought a small side table I planned to use as a laptop stand and it lasted two days.

Some of IKEA's desks aren't even particleboard anymore; one I bought recently is like a scaffolding of cheap balsa wood overlaid with a thick veneer. It looks solid but its mostly hollow inside... not good if you're trying to mount something to it like a monitor stand.

//Ikea's reputation is well-deserved.

Karelia?
As in that part of Finland that the Russians stole from them in 1939?
And they're cutting the trees to build stuff in Finland that they sell in Moscow?

So?
