All week, I have had graduate students in my office, like confused little puppies. Apparently, the emails I've sent them all year, the news, the official letters etc, didn't get through, but not getting the refund did.

My standard reply is to contact their Congressperson. None of them have a CLUE who that is.

This is news to me; I got my doctorate 3 years ago and I never wanted to teach so I'm out of the loop on this. This is the first I've heard of this. Was this the Stafford Loans? If I remember correctly there were worth about $2,500 a year.

No it hasn't. The huge tax burden on the states and the middle class has not been addressed. The lack of adequate health care under this law has not been addressed. The loss of jobs under this law has not been addressed. I mean, do you REALLY REALLY want STATE RUN health care? It will be like going to the DMV for your check ups.
