If Facebook keeps up this trend of account manipulation, it won't be much longer before when I say 'Facebook can blow me' that I'll start feeling a tingling in my crotch.

I have more than 15 Facebook accounts.

So anyone who uses facebook on their smartphone was effected.

Not a facebook user & proud.

Why do people keep complaining about Google+ ? I have not seen them pull stuff like this. I know there is not as many people on there, but that may actually be a good thing.

No, actually.

Anyone who used the "sync contacts" option were affected.

my 2 Exchange and 1 Gmail contact lists were unaffected because I made sure not to enable sync contacts.

I don't think Google+ is bad... they were just too late to the game. I don't feel like rebuilding/maintaining another network, and the fact is that currently all my friends are on facebook. Facebook just happened to be in the right place at the right time. It wasn't particularly better than other services of the sort, but it got the critical mass needed, and now it's very hard to break into that, because even if I left, convincing my friends/family to ALSO go rebuild a social network somewhere else would be near impossible.

Well I'm glad you did that.

BUT you still use FB. I'm not 'actually' judging you.

Sir do you have a phone?

Sir do you have access to a doman register?

Go Become miscreant.com & then you control 100% of what happens on your site.

And I certainly didn't accuse you of that. I just corrected the statement, with evidence from my experience, that your assertion "...anyone who uses facebook on their smartphone was effected" was inaccurate.

But if we are going to get smug, the word you are looking for is "affected" not "effected."

I installed the facebook droid app about a month ago. At one point it asked, "do you want to import contacts?" I said NO! It imported contacts anyway, overwriting any contacts already on my phone, losing the damn phone numbers.

I should have realized the facebook programmers are incompetent dumbarks and avoided the app. What was I thinking?

Yes I didn't clarify that all (or majority) of the people who use sync were affected. So you are correct.

Every time I consider joining facebook due to social pressure and to keep up with former classmates (I just got my bachelor's degree), they pull some stupid shiat to remind me why I never joined in the first place.

Because they tied it to your gmail account, I prefer to keep 'you are the product' type companies to only sifting through one angle of my online presence at a time thank you.

Cannot understand why google and apple have not barred facebook from the app stores pending this being totally fixed and remedied.. they would do that to any smaller developer who did something so outrageous.

I am still baffled by Facebook's trending articles thing they jammed at the top of the page so I can see what my friends are reading or something. Google+ did the same thing for celebrities on the service and it was impossible to remove.

2012 - the year when we stopped judging people on race or sexual preference, and instead focused on the important things, like which websites we visit.

Actually with Plus you can mouse over the top part of that section and slide down how much of that information it shows you, dropping it down to zero. I was pissed at them until I discovered that work around.
