meat0918: Yes, that's it.

It's OBAMA that wants us enslaved, not the financial institutions and corporations keeping Americans in debt up to their eyeballs and clamoring for more stuff.

I work for an environmental non profit that takes votes from supporters on what we should tackle next.

At least twice in the past month coworkers have gotten 'Obama is going to make us get bar code tattoos can you stop it'.

We're an environmental group.

Oh, snap, I forgot - you don't have any.

Of course they do: Let all the poor people die. Make the middle class go broke cleaning up the mess. Rinse, repeat.

Here's an idea from Allen West: force everybody to buy 9mm Glocks. Of course, he's just riffing on Obamacare, but if Christian Rock counts as original music then this has to count as an idea.

being up for election every 2 years.

i can't even say i'd be sane heading into that process, but i'd be painting the walls with my own dookie rather quickly.

I ran a state house campaign. We lost by a sliver to a total idiot of a woman. But she would do as she was told once in office so an absurd amount of money was spent against us. Good times.

The smart ones stay out of the race but pay for the winner. True on both sides but the big money comes with knowing you'll get a reliable vote.

How could you forget tax cuts for the wealthy? That's worse than forgetting Poland.

I didn't forget - tax cuts for the wealthy isn't a "plan" and it definitely won't improve America.

Those... Really aren't onerous.

that wasn't the point - in fact, I was using the extra tax I will have to pay as one of the reasons why I don't have much to hate in life, relatively speaking at least.

Well, I mean, good for you and all. But for me that was a list of things that was more or less completely irrelevant.

family, friends a nice home and a good living are completely irrelevant to enjoying life?

I meant the list of taxes.

FTA : "I believe for personal security, every American should have to go out and buy a Glock 9mm. And if you don't do it, we'll tax you. Now, I wonder how the liberals will feel about that one."

seeing as i know dozens of "liberals" that are responsible gun owners... uh... i think the rank stupidity of that "idea" is far more offensive than the gun itself.

then again... i don't really consider Allen West himself to be a particularly safe (or sane) gun user. i consider him massively irresponsible honestly.

Do you currently have health insurance for your "loving wife and adorable little boy"? If you answered "yes" to this question, then what specific taxes are going to increase for you because of Obama/RomenyCare?

You don't understand the concept of a "talking point" - it doesn't have to be "true" as such - it only has to be argumentative enough to garner the attention that is so badly craved.

Huggermugger: Lernaeus: What else should anyone expect from a "yes, you are your brothers' keeper" culture?

Your decisions can't be trusted, your property is not your own, and you owe your life to "society" ... sounds exactly like what I'd tell slaves to help them feel better about being owned.

Except I wouldn't say that, because I find slavery in all forms - and every justification for it - disgusting.

Washington DC, however, is just fine with demanding your complete, unquestioning obedience.

You dimwits idolize life as you deludedly imagine it was in the USA in the 1950s. Do you not realize that the federal government hasn't changed all that much since then? So, why are you only enraged about it when there's a Democrat in the White House, but when a tax-raiser and budget-buster like Bush or Reagan is there, you're just peachy keen with it all?

Try reading some civics textbooks from the 1940s and 1950s - the social contract was highly praised by just about everyone, outside of a few loonies like the John Birchers and Randroids.

I'm not enraged that there's a Democrat in the White House - I'm annoyed that political parties still exist, and that people keep thinking the Reds and Blues are anything more than different factions of the same "conquer all" political aristocracy.

And there can be no such thing as a "social contract". Contracts are voluntary agreements, usually provided in writing, and upheld only with one's signature. The "social contract" is a con, a completely undefinable non-concept used by illegitimate authorities to excuse forcing compliance with whatever arbitrary rules they come up with.

The 40s and 50s were no paradise, but to claim that the government hasn't changed much since then is probably the most ignorant claim about political history *ever*. The government didn't micromanage every inch of the economy back then. Being on the dole wasn't a point of pride with people, or encouraged by the state. Vague policies designed to give government complete authority under the guise of "wars" on drugs and terrorism were few and far between. There were no domestic spy agencies, nor did the President have the authority to have citizens killed on whim. The government then was a tiny fraction of its current size and scope - and even then, it was too large and powerful.

What's dimwitted is continuing to hit the crack pipe that has you so messed up you believe your government is acting in your interests.

That's the funny part. If the GOP leadership came out tomorrow and announced a system of bar code tattoos "to prevent voter fraud," you'd have the whole lot of them bleating, "Well what are you afraid of? This will prevent stolen elections." And proudly showing off bar code tattoos surrounded by weeping eagles.

My grandfather fought in World War II because he believed he was his brothers' keeper. No one makes it through life on their own so stop being a self righteous arseclown and realize that everything you do effects the people around you and vice versa.

With that being the case I don't think it's wrong to ask for a bit of civil decency and moral farkin decorum.
