What about Cold Fusion?

2003-11-13 12:33:50 AM
Dick Cheney's pulse. He's been dead for years.

2003-11-13 01:15:18 AM
I think cold fusion was omitted because it wasn't an intentional hoax. Just a couple of chemists who didn't know how to detect netrons, and blabbed to the press before they talked to a nuclear physicist

"In Piltdown, every single fossil was diagnostic of a species and they were all small, so they were all bits that would fit in someone's pocket, or trouser turnup or whatever."

Trouser turnup? BWAHAHAHAHAH!

2003-11-13 06:42:25 AM
You mean cold fusion isn't real? Elizabeth Shue didn't really discover it? That's b.s.

Every one of these top ten list titles need to followed by the words in this author's opinion.

So where it says: "Tim Radford selects his all-time favourite science scams", that wasn't clear enough for you?

2003-11-13 06:56:58 AM
Here comes the pseudo-science!

I feel dirty

2003-11-13 07:00:21 AM
Bevets,

You forgot the best argument against evolution. If we really evolved from the apes by developing bigger brains, how come there are still imbeciles like you about?

2003-11-13 07:08:16 AM
Now, remember kids, if there really was a god and/or he really was some sort of humanocentric beard in the sky, there wouldn't be flame wars. So all you creationists try not to prove yourselves wrong.

2003-11-13 07:08:33 AM

Here comes the pseudo-science!
Missd it by that much. Drat.

Hey there, Bevets! Still think you're barking up the wrong tree, but good to see you again.

2003-11-13 07:09:10 AM
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang would have been an awesome car if it had hydraulics and gold rims.

2003-11-13 07:12:38 AM
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was an evil son of a biatch.

2003-11-13 07:14:41 AM
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was a Skoda.

2003-11-13 07:21:10 AM
stfu crush. scraping started it.

The thread is level because of bivets post.

2003-11-13 07:24:35 AM
Why care anyway? No matter what anyone here says...No-one is going to change their mind..its completely pointless.

2003-11-13 07:25:37 AM
Wow! It's Bevets!

I feel blessed.

Creationism is far too outdated. It was a good thing when it appeared (2000 years ago people still wanted to know where it all came from), but it doesn't work anymore. Why don't creationists just stick to stuff like "God created life", or "God caused the big bang", or "God manipulates existence in the slightest ways, causing the impossible to happen, and shaping our world with evolution as but one of His tools."...?

Really, if creationists adopted the Bible as a plainly metaphorical book that it is (unless you believe God and Creation are so basic that they can be described using man-made language to the barely educated masses of two-thousand years ago); instead of telling people that ten thousand years ago, everything appeared in one week, and then some naked people ate an apple... Well, you guys would look a lot less silly.

No, I'm not religious, but I like to look for the good in all points of view.

Cthulus_Toaster,

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang would have been an awesome car if it had hydraulics and gold rims.

I heard they're making that into a movie. It's called Chitty Chitty Bling Bling.

Thank you and goodnight

That's true enough. But I just like making fun of idiots.

We all need hobbies.

Top scientific hoax of all time: GLOBAL WARMING

2003-11-13 07:26:29 AM
Piltdown is only a snowflake on the tip of the iceberg.

How is it that trained men, the greatest experts of their day, could look at a set of modern human bones the cranial fragments and "see" a clear simian signature in them; and see in an apes jaw the unmistakable signs of humanity. The answers, inevitably, have to do with the scientist's' expectations and their effects on the interpretation of the data. ~ Roger Lewin

2003-11-13 07:28:40 AM
Question: why do Darwin Worshippers get so upset when they hear a species might become extinct?

2003-11-13 07:30:40 AM
Tinian.

No-one doubts that Global Warming as a phenomenon actually exists. It's just whether or not humans are contributing to it that's still in question.

2003-11-13 07:31:07 AM

Crush...that hobbys thing is a understatement. build rc helicopters,bowling,sports..etc. just some suggestions any the farker that get off by trying to bash creationism or evolutionism with meaningless vauge posts that have no backing whatsoever. without any possible outcome.

I hate the absolute hypocrisy of Social Darwinism. This form of racist pseudoscience advocated sterilizing racial minorities and other people who were deemed inferior. Ironically many pastors supported this ideology of Social Darwinism.
"There are some people in this world who like their Creationism school taught, and their Darwinism social."

2003-11-13 07:44:07 AM
"Piltdown is only a snowflake on the tip of the iceberg."

But wait, who was it that exposed Piltdown as a fraud? Oh thats right, scientists. Real scientists.
