I'm going to have to sadly predict Spain will win this. I don't want either team to win, but I really don't want Spain to win. So... go Italy?

Should be an interesting match either way.

I've watched every match I could until now, and this was the one final that could result in me not tuning in. Is there a way that both sides lose?

I'm looking forward to this one myself

Forza Azzurri!

Not a huge soccer fan, but I watch a good bit of the World Cup and Euro Cup. I'll be rooting for my ancestor's motherland of Spain as always, even tho I usually like to pull for the underdogs.

I can't believe all the people picking Italy. They are the hip pick all of a sudden. It does make me wonder if the commentators do this to effect the line, the bet big on Spain (it's what I would do).

/2-0 Spain
//hate Italy so I'm bias

This Euro has been a blast to watch. Good luck Mario, and Azzurri.

I can see why you aren't a huge fan if all you watch is horrible international football. Club football is about 1000x better.

Going to be watching this at a bar with a few friends. I'll pick Spain to win in penalties.

Let's add some motivation: winner gets their national debt canceled.

It's been a great tournament and I hope the final is great too. I'd rather Spain won, but I'm not particularly bothered either way.

2012-07-01 01:31:29 PM
Italy 2-1
Pirlo, De Rossi, Torres
Balo gets a reed card in the 68th

Going to just get hammered and watch this one, no commentary from me.

Almost. Italy's gonna park in front of their goal for two hours and then take the edge on penalties.

2012-07-01 01:41:21 PM
Spain are starting without a striker yet again. So they are going for a 1-0 victory.

Italy will let Spain have lots of possesion at the half way line then when they get the ball a quick counter attack and score. Italy are very very good at playing without the ball.

2-1 to Italy with it getting close to the end when Spain are forced to put on two strikers and actualy play attacking forwards.

Balotelli is young, impulsive, and impatient, so yeah. Has Torres scored any goals in this tournament?

Odds are it's going to be something like that.

I can't believe I have to root for Italy because of their style of play.

I hope Mario gets a hat trick.

Italy haven't parked it all tourney, missed a lot of shots which accounts for the low scoring, but it wasn't parking. With Spain starting 3 up front today they will certainly be looking to counter more than usual unless they can control the midfield which is possible too with Spain going more up front

Already at my local awaiting the start of the game. I'm, arbitrarily, cheering for Italy. One of the bartenders (Irish) is cheering for Spain. We've already had a small little argument about this. It'll be a good afternoon.

If too many Italy fans come in today I might have to start cheering for Spain. 'Cause that's the way I roll.

I'm not sure who's more annoying, the typical Spain bandwagoner ot the people who bandwagoned Italy after 2006.

/Don't think that's anyone on this site, just in general.

Really not excited about this game. The Germany loss was so disappointing. They didn't even look like the same team. I could say the same thing about Spain.

Italy seems to be peaking. They could win.

/just a casual fan, but .02.

If they were still on the bandwagon of the 2010 showing they get a bit of credit for that, personally the one that hurt the most was Baggio's penalty at the Rose Bowl, one of my friends who doesn't know the game said "a deep fly ball to centerfield, going, going, gone!", I cut him off from my beers for a solid 30 minutes

Mine was going on about the beautiful defensive game that Spain has and that it is how the "Beautiful game" is meant to be played. I just think that attacking is more interesting than ultra-defense.

Anywho, the local is starting to fill up.

A small, selfish part of me is hoping Italy wins, but that's because I'm traveling there on Saturday and it'd be pretty cool to see the country all happy like.

But I'm guessing Spain will pull this out.

I just asked this rural dive bar to turn off NASCAR and turn on European soccer. I think I might be lynched here shortly.
