If you are dumb enough to put a loaded gun against your temple and pull the trigger, then it is a fair assumption that you will not be providing anything of value for the extent of your life.

Very good friend of mine bottomed out about 10 years ago after a lifetime of epic alcoholism. He tried to shoot himself in the head but was too hammered, and just blew out one of his eyes.

Ten years later he has a doctorate in environmental science and is actively involved in researching and implementing effective ways to feed large urban areas. He's also no longer an alcoholic.
