Salo to Tampa, 2/$3.75M.

McClement to Toronto, 2/$3M.

Leafs need a serious centre to play with Lupul and Kessel and what we get instead is a 3rd/4th line centre in McClement

Last time the Canucks let an aging, injury prone defenseman (Mitchell) walk he ended up hoisting the cup.

If Nash doesn't pick a team by tomorrow I am going to punch a kitten
Speculation has run on too long.

Parise or Nash will sign with Pitts

Just a gut feeling

Unbearable tension, lol.

Canes "likely not" on the short list, local guys are trying to confirm that the Devils are.

I could see him having a bounce back year, but I don't see two good years out of him.

$3M per?! Damn.

I just don't like him as a player. He is the king of the weak wrist shot from the point, and takes stupid penalties.

As long as the whistles don't come with him, I like this.

Tootoo to Detroit, 3/$1.9M per year.

Crap.... do we have to put up with those stupid whistles all season long now?

Fellow Wings fans... we are far better than this, just say NO to stupid Toot-Tooting!!!

is Tootoo dating annoying kelly pickler still?
itd be funny of he was and brought her to detroit with him

Pierre LeBrun:

I don't think the Kings are front-runners for Parise.... Shane Doan is of interest to the Kings, however

Dallas Stars also have interest Doan. But Doan told us this morning he wouldn't decide his future until July 9

Prediction: if Coyotes ownership deal gets done this week (unlikely), Doan stays. If not, it's up in the air because Doan might have an offer from the Coyotes that no one knows about.

When I first saw it, i thought "Cool, he likely took less to try and find his game again with the Wings"

Then I saw the $3m part. Do the Wings know something that everyone else doesn't?

canucks are letting these players walk since they'll have to pay for two starting goalies this year

Doan does not want to resign and end up playing in Quebec. The French do not like him because he called them frogs.

Not even McDonagh, as good as he was, was a factor in that series meanwhile Gomez was a factor in the Devils winning the cup back before the lockout

Supposedly, the Wild are still on Parise's and Suter's short lists.

Pretty sure Parise to Pitt and Suter to Detroilet, however.

Meh, at this point all bets are off. If it was about going to the team they wanted the deal would be done already.

Either one could be the tipping point for the Wild, with the likes of Granlund, Brodin, Coyle, Zucker, Larsson, and Bulmer all vying for spots on the team.

Hey I'm not disagreeing with you, just saying that when it comes to high profile players they either go early to a team they already had in mind or start a bidding war between two or three.

I just can't see ZP turning down Crosby/Malkin, despite being a Minny native. Hell, he'll be the star there when Sid goes down 12 games in.

You are saying that you would have rather have had Scott Gomez than Ryan McDonagh?

Hahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Oh, you.

p.s.

Can we up the ante on the SCF bet and have you ban yourself from all hockey threads in PHX stays put? Please?

Gomez in his prime > everyone on the rangers in their prime

as for that bet, yes, ill stay out of every NHL themed thread if phoenix stays put this year, but what do i get if i win? you all have to kiss my ass about how right i was and call me the wizard

I'll agree if we modify so that the terms are whether or not PHX moves to Quebec, not just "in general".

Also, no. Scott Gomez in his prime is not greater than Henry.

Theres no where else they could go. Quebec has a buyer willing already along with a big enough arena to play in while they build a better one. Seattle has the market but no arena or investor(s) yet. Quebec is definitely the location. And you are ON!

Right wing Shane Doan, who has played all 17 of his NHL seasons with the Phoenix Coyotes franchise, reportedly will wait until July 9 to decide if he will become a free agent.

Doan, who has 310 goals in 1,198 games, will wait until then to see if Greg Jamison's bid to buy the Coyotes is successful, according Canada's The Sports Network.
