Unforgettable stars Poppy Montgomery as a detective who remembers just about everything.

So, it's "Psych" except shallow.

Okay. Fine. That's on CBS.

NBC/Universal.....

UNCANCEL 'AWAKE' YOU IGNORANT D-BAGS!!!!!

In the words of Paul Reiser in a rare funny moment: "When you're the fourth rated network, you've got to work hard to keep that bottom spot."

Now how about un doing "the Gifted Man" cancellation? I don't watch it, but my mother and a lot of other people I know, do.

Cancel 3 Men already (the kid hasn't been a half man since 2003)

lazy arse Hollywood has been riding the quirky investigator railroad for quite some time. always with the gimmick.

Ironside - wheelchair bound detective
Columbo - specialized in getting on one's last nerve
Banacek - a Polack, say no more
The Rockford Files - nice guy who gets his arse kicked almost every episode
Cannon - morbidly obese
Monk - a psychiatrist could retire on this freak
Hart to Hart - bored gorgeous millionaire sleuth couple
Magnum PI - broke bum private dick in Mansion w/ Ferrari 308GTB
Peter Gunn - sharp dresser hipster jazz fan. as if.
Starsky & Hutch - TV's first gay cop couple

the list goes on. watching real crime shows it seems like most crimes are solved because those involved just have to talk about what they did. morans.

I think I caught an episode of that once; it pains me to make such an obvious joke, but it really is forgettable. It's like they deliberately tried to make the most generic cop show they possibly could. The lead having an eidetic memory just gives them a crutch they can use to solve the case once their 42 minutes are up - "Oh, that guy did it because his statement contradicted what that one witness said at the start of the episode".

You know how Castle is an incredibly generic cop show that Nathan Fillion carries by sheer charisma? Imagine Castle without Nathan Fillion.

Cute woman I've never heard of before. Here's Poppy Montgomery giving a good interview with Craig Ferguson (who's show is pretty funny and I really like watching him interview people). And a Google image search for her brings up a bunch of semi-nude pics. She does love to show skin.

You left out Rizzoli & Isles, the one cop show where every viewer is just waiting for them to start the hot girl on girl action.

Indeed. But one would have to get hate-farked by the other, since one is a heartless GOP whore.

Suits rocks.

Sure Mike has his awesome memory, but they don't beat us over the head with it and it's not the central solution to every episode.

ms_lara_croft: RoyFokker'sGhost: UNCANCEL 'AWAKE' YOU IGNORANT D-BAGS!!!!!

I second this.

They need to make "Awake" as a movie or TV mini-series instead of a recurring TV show. The plot is very interesting, but it seems impossible to keep the plot going on a week-by-week basis. For a 90-120 movie, though, it would/could be fantastic.

Also, came for Poppy Montgomery pics -- am disappoint.

I agree - a TV mini-series of the show would be perfect. That plot would be hard to maintain week after week. I did like the way it ended, though. The ending was satisfactory.

KrispyKritter: Magnum PI - broke bum private dick in Mansion w/ Ferrari 308GTB

Actually, Magnum is Batman: Hawaii. I noticed this when I was a kid:

- He's a crimefighter

- Secretly a billionaire. (Yes, the canon is deliberately vague about whether he's really Robin Masters, but it's easy to assume he is.)

- Drives an awesome car.

- Has fussy British butler. (Strictly speaking, Higgins isn't the butler, but close enough.)

- Sometimes travels by boat or helicopter.

- Etc.

He has fewer gadets, uses a gun, and his costume is a Hawaiian shirt and baseball cap. But basically he's a very mellow Batman.

My wife loves UNFORGETTABLE, and I'm sure its strongest demographic is female young adult & adult one.

I'm sure no married man wants to watch what is basically their life, since wives never forget ANYTHING.

Yeah, I was really into the show after the pilot, but around the 4th episode my enthusiasm went off a cliff. I'm not even sure why. All the right elements were there, but it still didn't stick for me.

Same experience for me. I think the problem was the continuing plot line where the "other" world was suggesting how the main character should solve the case in the "current" world. That worked for about an episode, then it got pretty old.
