Gyrfalcon: acefox1: Here is the latest Trump-Koch Borthers propaganda that's making it around the Facebook walls of the pants-on-the-head retarded regressives I know:

[farm8.staticflickr.com image 640x524]

When i see shiat like this it shows that the person posting it has a fundamental lack of understanding that the PPACA was passed so we could go from a country with no healthcare system except for the elderly, veterans and workers with good benefits to a country that has KIND of a healthcare system.

Respondig with the Politifact debunking of this lie usually does no good but here it is anyway:
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2009/sep/11/chain -e mail/64000-question-e-mail-says-congress-exempt-health-/

Nobody is exempted from the "Health Care Reform Plan". It AMAZES me that so many red-staters firmly believe that PPACA created some evil-shadowy government health-plan that evrybody will be forced to join.

When I point out that the PPACA simply says that if you can afford to buy PRIVATE health insurance then you have to buy it. This was the Republican "personal responsibility" Mandate idea to eliminate free-riders that that the Republicans were pushing until the exact second that Obama supported it. Then it became an EEEEVIL gub'mint take over of the health-care system.

Maybe if a few states go single-payer the rest of the country will start to see that is the better way to go.

If ll else fails I like responding with this baby:

[farm9.staticflickr.com image 320x240]

And I never get tired of this one as well:

[farm7.staticflickr.com image 500x500]

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea that there are people out there who don't want health insurance. WHY THE F*CK NOT?!?!?

Because it's GOVERNMENT!!, and GOVERNMENT!! is evil! Plus it's DEMOCRATIC LIBERAL GOVERNMENT!!, so it's trying to destroy them and all they hold dear! And it benefits everybody, not just and only them, so it's TERRIBLE!! "I have to pay small amounts of money so my fellow Americans can stay safe and healthy?! EVIL LIBERALS SUCKING ME DRY AND LETTING ALL THE LAZY FREELOADERS LIVE OFF MY HARD-EARNED CASH!!!!"

"Uh, your side proposed the exact same thing a few years ago-"

EEEEEEEEEVIL DEMOCRATIC LIBERAL GOVERNMENT AFTER MY MONEY!!!1!1one!!1"

Explain why I should trust the government to do this one thing right, despite the fact that everything else it does is corrupt.

Because you've done it before.

Hmm, let me think ...

No, I definitely never trusted the government, and have never been happy about anything it *made* me do.

I guess those turnpikes that cost money - you were never happy to pay your taxes or pay your toll.
i.e., you must have a flying Delorian

Yup, street maintance, traffic signals, building state and interstate highways. Then there is the FAA which guarntees that we have a far less chance of dying when we fly somewhere. The FDA which makes sure our food and drugs will not kill us. I'm looking at my dogs right now, both of which are fully vaccinated as per county law. We have leash laws in this city which ensure thousands of dogs are not just roaming loose.

Yeah, the government is really horrible.

Well, sure, the government does all these good things to protect people and improve commerce, but that doesn't mean you have to like them.

...Well, I never *liked* my state mandated school vaccinations that ensured that I would not catch mumps, measels, diptheria, rubella, TB, etc.,

;)

This is the face of the Republican base: crazy eyes that house a brain that does not live in this reality, pasty white skin, and a look of quiet desperation. It's the face of a hick begging for real-life drama to avoid the voices in his brain that try to make him see sense and ask him what the fark he's doing in life combined with the ones on the television telling him that America--the one that only exists in black and white reruns--is under threat and that he can be a big hero if he just stands up for whatever issue pisses him off. It's the face of a man who is brave enough to completely destroy his credibility yet not brave enough to make changes in his life that he so desperately wants: the Republican brand of cowardice that does everything in its power, no matter how mindless except the one that makes them live the lives they want instead of forcing reality to fit their sad, pathetic mold.

Hobodeluxe: I'm guessing his lawyer typed that up for him. Must've gotten a little call from the secret service.

He probably got a call from the Party, telling him to shut the fark up because he'll lose his cherry job. Then again, this is yet another Republican way of saying shiat and then backing away from any responsibility from it. You know, the same responsibility that they slap people around with and then avoid at the next opportunity.

Don't worry folks, fostering hyperbolic, vitriolic rhetoric is just harmless politics. There's no way it could result in people becoming so deranged that they actually start believing that health care reform is on par with a brutal, repressive regime taking over our government.

People are too smart to fall for that.

I can promise you this nutjob is a Howie Carr listener (680 Boston). Carr could have written that screed. Off the chart hate speech.

I love the "code" they speak too. "WE'RE GONNA HAFTA WAIT 4 MONTHS TO SEE A DOCTOR NOW!" Oh, and why is that? Oh yea, because people who are now suffering & dying at home will be able to go to the doctor now.

But rush & howie and their ilk are always touting how good the health care system is, and that NOBODY is refused medical care in this country. If that were true, why are the doctor's offices going to be suddenly filled to the brim?

They scream about how now we are going to have "rationed" care.

NEWSFLASH!!! We have rationed care now. If you have insurance, you get care. If you don't, you can just stay home and die.

/funny how they aren't concerned with the trillion+ dollars we've wasted in the middle east, or the thousands of lives lost.

FTA: "No one cares about me, they all make their promises and then go do what they goddamn feel."

What, suddenly you're running things now? I missed that bit, you know, where YOU were in control of everything in the world.

It's kind of interesting that he's not framing this in the sense of how it affects America in general, but what it means for him personally. True, the only rhetoric you'll hear about how this hurts Americans is "This is tyranny" and "Socialisms" and other soundbites from the AM radio spectrum, but at least that implies that they're wiling to cast a veneer of selflessness over their rejection of reform. This person only cares about what it means for his own wallet.

Trouble with democracy is that you don't always get what you want.

I took a tour of Freeperville - okay, I admit it, it was a very visceral day for me. Nuanced opinion: "Well I don't really like the decision but given the choice between nothing whatsoever and Obamacare I guess I'll take Obamacare since it's still an improvement over the system we have." Then I spent half the day wandering websites for the redstate reaction. "Let us now go to American Thinker; they do amuse me so." I don't really like admitting that since it puts me on the same level as people who vote for idiots because those idiots "piss off the Liberals," but I'm only human.

Anywho, I stumbled upon this post from some guy who said that there was no way he could possibly afford health insurance for himself and his wife and that over four years Obama had taken everything he'd ever had away from him. You could practically see the tears sprinkled upon the paper. The Courts made a decision regarding health care distribution and these people are _mourning the fall of a nation._

This isn't a huge surprise. These people have been hearing for the last three years that Obamacare will be the end of the Republic and the gateway to a new era of government intrusion. They are absolutely convinced of that. And not only did they pin all their hopes on the Supreme Court decision, they were certain that decision was going to fall their way. In this alternate-universe construct they've created for themselves, they literally have no country to call their own anymore.

If I woke up tomorrow and discovered that my country had been invaded by totalitarians that had burned Washington, leveled our largest cities, set fire to the cornfields of Nebraska, and set up a military dictatorship, I'd probably shed a tear, too. To them, it's the same thing. They literally see no difference between an insurance mandate and an invasion by the Soviets. Which explains all these calls for violent armed rebellion.

Dear conservatives: You're absolutely right. I don't give a damn about you. I don't care about your whining or your tears or your assurances that the collapse of Western Civilization is right around the corner. I don't think you guys have the slightest clue what "freedom" means and I think you should try exploring a world broader than a fourth-grade social studies textbook for awhile.

You didn't get what you wanted this time. Tough beans. It happens.

Me, I'm going to study this decision, find out what it means to me, determine the least expensive way to remain in compliance, and ensure that my records are up-to-date. You know. Like civic-minded grownups with a sense of personal responsibility tend to do.

...So, nyah. :P

These people simply cannot be reasoned with -- because reason has nothing whatever to do with their views and beliefs. And, that's scary because they're recruiting other weak minded people to their line of paranoia.

We're coming to a point where nearly half the country is completely misinformed and living in a near-constant state of paranoid delusion.
