Correct, a robbery sometimes doesn't even hit deductible (unless you empty the safe) beats a Work Comp death claim any day of the week.

Strangely, California state law prohibits most subjects from carrying firearms outside of their home. I therefore cannot understand how this incident could have occurred.

One of my friends worked at a coffee shop in Milwaukee and was robbed at gunpoint twice in six months. A couple months latter he went to work at the local casino, and it was robbed while he was there. Security guards exchanged gunfire with robbers in the parking lot as they left. No one hit any thing but cars and the building, but shiat I would have been peeing my pants. What I don't understand is that he is completely unfazed by the robberies. He says he was trained to not resist in any way, and so he just handed over the money. After all, it's not his.

Of course he's the coffee Barista version of Raoul Duke. He's always mellowed out on something.

If the guy in this story had just handed over the money and then called the cops like he was supposed to, he would still be alive.

For all the people talking about just giving up the money... it seems he was just trying to get them to leave after some form of dispute and they were not actually robbing the place.

Police say an employee, identified as Raul Lopez, got into a fight inside the restaurant with one of the suspects.
Lopez then grabbed a chair and tried to push the group out of the restaurant when one of them shot at him.
