People with pre-existing conditions? People not poor enough for medicaid, but too poor to afford insurance premiums?

In other words, about 1 in 7, or 50 million of us.

To the Tea Partiers, going to the emergency room only to be sent home because its too late to treat your stage 4 cancer = "receiving health care".

*points, laughs at dkendr*

It's amazing how many of you tools have nearly zero grasp of the problem, yet rail against the solution that your side proposed when a Democrat says, "OK, let's do it."

Good luck with that. Go ahead and run with this. I'm sure that it won't polarize the elections, and scare folks into cementing a vote against crazy...

What was it you said (in character as a RWer) the other day about being disgusted by the thought of the kids of an out of work neighbour being able to have health insurance? It applies here and it's supremely quotable, I'm just too lazy to go looking for it.

2012-06-30 05:45:23 PM
Look, you teatards, I tolerated your shenanigans for the most part because I found you to be the loopy brethren of some backwoods hick-family. But this is beyond low for you. You actually believe it's immoral to give someone access to affordable healthcare? Really? What the hell is wrong with you? Most of you have access to Social Security and Medicare, both of which are government programs, but when the government wants to help those that aren't you to get similar access to health, you want to deny them? What part of your bible to you not understand? The whole helping your fellow man thing? You want to believe that you're a stand-up moral do gooder of justice, then grow a farking pair and actually support better access to basic health needs, not because you benefit from them but because it's the right thing to do.

Without this law, I'd be denied coverage (most likely) outside of MA because I have an increased risk of developing MS. And you bastards want to deny me the ability to live outside of my state because of that? Don't deny me the freedom to live and actually live a life outside the state where I can actually afford to see a doctor without selling off my first-born. So riddle me this, oh great moral compasses of our time, why should you deny us the right to affordable medical care when you'd get pissy if we did the same to you? What makes you better, more deserving people? Nothing? Then fark off you hover-round freeloaders

/white, straight, Liberal-moderate republican, upper middle class
//and you lot still piss me off

so far, the only people who are upset about this ruling are the tea party and/or radical Republicans. everyone else is largely indifferent or in favor of the SCOTUS ruling. so while i'm sure this health care thing seems like a big deal from inside the GOP echo chamber, outside in the larger universe Obamacare is a relatively popular and/or acceptable thing.

that's why i'm wondering if you were either drunk or high. your viewpoint does not reflect reality.

I said this before with regards to childless couples not having privileged status with regards to Santorum and I will say it again now: If you have a medical problem that stops you from doing something then you need to stop having a medical problem.

When my wife and I had to travel to the farthest reaches of the outer spheres in order to obtain the blood of the Elder God Yog Sothoth did we apply for Government assistance? NO!! Like any honest American we pulled ourselves up by the bootstraps and sacrificed many a virgin in order to appease incomprehensible entities and gain access to forbidden dimensions and unspeakable materials so that we could imbue our manufactured child with life. I won't be tedious and bore everyone with the details of our humble lives but my wife, myself, and our living blasphemy of a child couldn't be happier about the efforts the teaparty is putting out to put an end to this unholy abomination called Affordable Healthcare.

If you liberals would get off your high horses and be more like we salt of the earth folks who unwilling to make excuses and roll up our sleeves(or don our skin cassocks as the case may be) to achieve whatever is desired then there wouldn't be even a single person on Welfare.

nah. its just that the GOP rank and file are starting to recover from the fact that Obama made sure they aren't getting screwed over by insurance companies anymore. they were HAPPY with being denied health care and now that they're going to get what they pay for they're mad as hell and aren't gonna take it anymore.

My health insurance ends today (SO got laid off earlier in the month) so I'm really getting a kick out of the Tea Party. Also, my doctor prescribed Singulair to me on Thursday because my out of control allergies keep giving me sinus infections (4 in 7 months), but my insurer decided they needed to talk to my doctor because Singulair is expensive ($208) and they didn't want to pay for my prescription unless it was REALLY REALLY necessary. So now my insurance is ending, the Singulair hasn't yet been approved, and I'm going to have pay out of pocket for it because of my insurance company. But thank God the government isn't telling my doctor what drugs I should or should not be prescribed. That'd be wrong, and a rationing of health care.

/haven't received any COBRA paperwork yet, either

I live in a TEAtard hovel, and I have to say the cognitive dissonance is f*cking astounding. There are no words. Ever hear a crowd of oppressed white people sing "we will persevere" from their hoverrounds whilst obviously on disability / food stamps / etc.?

My upstairs neighbors get $600 in food stamps per month (which they're f*cking proud of [yes, they brag about gaming the system] ... keep in mind this is more than my rent, utilities, phone bill and car insurance combined which I have a job to pay for [yes, they brag about not having to work, too] and have some of that subsidize their lazy asses). I wanted to set assbag #1 on fire the other night when he came down after I got off work to rant about having to pay for other people's healthcare now. HE HAS NO JOB AND HENCE DOESN'T F*CKING PAY TAXES! Bonus: his girlfriend is pregnant with her third kid by three different daddies and claims the kid she doesn't even live with to get even more money. And they think this is great!

Now keep in mind this is all anecdotal but goddamn, social science could learn a lot from someone that (pick one) dumb / lazy / hypocritical. I'm one of the biggest liberal, hippy-dippy, love-everybody, live-in-harmony types you'll ever meet and even I say "f*ck these people."

/I've had a rough day, thanks for letting me vent.
