FTFA: Tea partiers at the local level aren't wild about the idea of another large national rally, either.

"You know, I'm kind of personally rallied out. And I think a lot of our members are. In 2009 and 2010, we had so many rallies,"

Maintaining Faux Poutrage for 4 years is HARD!

/We've started to scare our handlers.

Yeah, because the truly oppressed have the option of getting tired of protesting it.

FTFA: On July 4, the tea party will dust off the tri-corn hats and head into the streets to fight the second revolutionary war against "Obamacare."

Where they will once again bring out the poorly-written signs reading "Obama = nubianr," "OBAMACARE IS WHITE SLAVERY!" "Get your gub'mint hands off my Medicair!" etc., etc., etc., and everyone will remember once again why they never liked the Teabaggers.

dkendr: Who the fark is being DENIED health ...

My brother, who has a tumor in his jaw, i.e. a "preexisting condition." I hope you, sir, die a slow, painful death in a car accident on your way to your next Teabagger rally.

Gergesa: somedude210: Without this law, I'd be denied coverage (most likely) outside of MA because I have an increased risk of developing MS.

I said this before with regards to childless couples not having privileged status with regards to Santorum and I will say it again now: If you have a medical problem that stops you from doing something then you need to stop having a medical problem.

When my wife and I had to travel to the farthest reaches of the outer spheres in order to obtain the blood of the Elder God Yog Sothoth did we apply for Government assistance? NO!! Like any honest American we pulled ourselves up by the bootstraps and sacrificed many a virgin in order to appease incomprehensible entities and gain access to forbidden dimensions and unspeakable materials so that we could imbue our manufactured child with life. I won't be tedious and bore everyone with the details of our humble lives but my wife, myself, and our living blasphemy of a child couldn't be happier about the efforts the teaparty is putting out to put an end to this unholy abomination called Affordable Healthcare.

If you liberals would get off your high horses and be more like we salt of the earth folks who unwilling to make excuses and roll up our sleeves(or don our skin cassocks as the case may be) to achieve whatever is desired then there wouldn't be even a single person on Welfare.

I realize you're trolling, but seriously. I really wanted to hit you because I've actually heard this argument

(and for those that took this seriously, MS actually is not preventable (like obesity or lung cancer from smoking))

so far, the only people who are upset about this ruling are the tea party and/or radical Republicans. everyone else is largely indifferent or in favor of the SCOTUS ruling. so while i'm sure this health care thing seems like a big deal from inside the GOP echo chamber, outside in the larger universe Obamacare is a relatively popular and/or acceptable thing.

that's why i'm wondering if you were either drunk or high. your viewpoint does not reflect reality.

I'd like to know too as I haven't had a hit since 1994. But regardless of the truth and logic, all of you know that the majority of America is poised to defeat Obama. It will happen, and Obamacare will go down when it does.

in 5 minutes discussion, my brother in law went from apoplectic fits to calm acceptance on the topic, and i'm not even particularly a proponent of the plan as it stands - it's just that every single thing he listed off that had him spinning circles and ready to secede his suburb wasn't reflected by reality.

well, i'm sure that among the right wing chat sites and blogs, it seems like there's an unstoppable force out there that can and will steamroll over Obama later this year. But...the majority of the country does not share those points of view. That aside, even assuming the Republicans somehow were to defeat Obama, his health care plan itself is here to stay. the GOP had one shot at taking down Obamacare. ONE shot...and they blew it. sounds about right. the GOP and tea party bloggers don't represent more than 20% of the electorate, and in some areas of the country its probably even less than that. sure, they're kicking up a fuss...but they don't have broad based voter support.

I don't know what 'real America' is. But, come on, do you really think that a plurality of American voters (in every state outside of the usual coastal ones) don't want to defeat Obama? It's obvious.

i'm not sure if I should laugh or cry when I hear a GOP voter say that 'next year we'll repeal Obamacare'. this week was it - the GOP had ONE SHOT at Obamacare, and SCOTUS was it. when they ruled it constitutional, the fight was over. sure, IN THEORY the Republicans could repeal the legislation via Congressional fiat, but in order to do that they'd need a super majority in the House and Senate AND have to take the white house AND push that effort through the legislature within two years...none of which I see being a reality any time soon.

Like it or not, Obamacare is here to stay.

I'm going to love how all of this Fourth of July bullshiat will blow over because the Teabaggers' corporate backers won't throw a penny their way. The delusion of the useful idiots is grand, especially since corporate America has already given up on Romney and now are letting the media mock him.

The days of the Teabaggers are over. They got the Republicans the House and that was it for them.

I for one welcome the enthusiastic participation of our tea party compatriots in this important national dialogue.

Tea Partiers: Please, please, make this the centerpiece of your rage against Obama. And when asked what exactly in the plan you object too, respond as only you can - with nuclear weapons grade stupid.

Do it.

Actually the other 4 out of the 7 who think they are presently covered could be dumped like a turd by their insurance company if they had a catastrophic illness or injury.

2012-07-01 01:04:58 AM
We could allow an individual to opt out of it, if they so choose. If someone is willing to sign away a legal waiver that exempts them from the benefits of the affordable care act (and the right to be covered no matter what at an emergency room) they should be able to buy health insurance at what the market will allow. Make that an option, and every insurance company in the country would pass those forms out like candy.

Give the tards EXACTLY what they want.

Rant_Casey's_Rabies_Buffet: I live in a TEAtard hovel, and I have to say the cognitive dissonance is f*cking astounding. There are no words. Ever hear a crowd of oppressed white people sing "we will persevere" from their hoverrounds whilst obviously on disability / food stamps / etc.?

My upstairs neighbors get $600 in food stamps per month (which they're f*cking proud of [yes, they brag about gaming the system] ... keep in mind this is more than my rent, utilities, phone bill and car insurance combined which I have a job to pay for [yes, they brag about not having to work, too] and have some of that subsidize their lazy asses). I wanted to set assbag #1 on fire the other night when he came down after I got off work to rant about having to pay for other people's healthcare now. HE HAS NO JOB AND HENCE DOESN'T F*CKING PAY TAXES! Bonus: his girlfriend is pregnant with her third kid by three different daddies and claims the kid she doesn't even live with to get even more money. And they think this is great!

Now keep in mind this is all anecdotal but goddamn, social science could learn a lot from someone that (pick one) dumb / lazy / hypocritical. I'm one of the biggest liberal, hippy-dippy, love-everybody, live-in-harmony types you'll ever meet and even I say "f*ck these people."

/I've had a rough day, thanks for letting me vent.

Seems to me like someone should point out that they are gaming the system. People like this aren't helping the situation at all and the fact that they are bringing up kids who are going to most likely grow up to be leeches on society leads me to believe that you may want to place a couple of calls to the authorities. I'm all for helping out people who can't make ends meet but it seems to me like these assholes should get a job and get off the dole.

Nope, just a majority plus a R House and White House. Since it's considered a tax it can be repealed via reconciliation which only needs a majority in the Senate.

That's how it passed the Senate in the first place.

"the right to be denied heath care"

You mean the right to be denied health care insurance. Axlerod uses this bit of newspeak all the time. Health care is not the same as healthcare insurance. You are not entitled to either of them.
