Suck it, Don Cherry.

Is there something in the air in that state?

/maybe the dust?

Sounds like from the article that it's not the only time he violated the dress code

And I suppose something sensible like, say, asking Sutton to wear a DBags lapel pin would be out of the question...

It's management decisions like this that make me not care about the Diamondbacks anymore. We could have the best players this game has ever seen, and management would actively find a way to screw things up. It's their singnature talent.

In their mind they are using him to advertise the polos they want viewers to buy. I suppose it could work, but I do not recall ever looking at an announcer's polo and thinking I want to buy it.

Then again, my favorite team has Vin Sculley, and he wouldn't be expected to be a billboard, and our local team has 2 announcers I can't stand.

Suspending him for uniform violations is probably just masking other problems or infractions.

2012-06-30 11:53:07 AM
I used to have to wear a shiatty uniform at a job too. I wanted to wear something a little nicer, but the attire was set. I didn't biatch about it in front of customers though, so I didn't get canned.

1- Daron Sutton is a douchebag.

2- Ken Kendrick is a colossal douchebag.

The Diamondbacks would be in a far better place with both of them gone.

/for those of you who know what Phoenix team I support over all others, Kendrick's wife is one of the people working on screwing them over

i knew a guy that was a clubbie for the Snakes during Showalter's tenure. he said he literally saw Showalter measuring the height of players' pantlegs / stirrups. and he also saw Sho flip out on the buffet folks for havign the temerity to serve either ketchup or mustard in plastic, not glass, bottles.

Bob Brenly tells a story of his first team meeting after taking over from Sho. Sho supposedly had this "diamondbacks baseball manual" described as a huge binder a coupel inches thick. at the first spring training practice, Brenly ceremoniously dumped Sho's manual in the garbage, and then produced a cocktail napkin and said, "here's MY manual. two rules: 1) be on time, and 2), maximum effort."

Kendrick needs to STFU. he basically accused Gonzo of juicing, and now said what, J-Up was dogging it?

/also, fark sports tab being late strikes again; the suspension occured about a week ago. why is fark sports tab so late on "news"

Sutton has never been a favorite of mine, but this treatment he's getting is BS.

Things have been Bush League since they ran off Colangelo.

I am sad to see suit-wearing disappear. They look nice, and if you buy the right size they are perfectly comfortable.

But they dug out of the debt he left behind finally.

Seriously? Geeze a compromise to make both parties happy is absurdly simple , either the team gets him a dbacks lapel pin or have him get one himself and wear it on the lapel of his suit .

Dbacks get their logo he gets his suit everyone is happy.

You know, the Nazis had pieces of flair that they made the Jews wear.

When a guy's home run numbers go 15-10-23-26-31-57-28-26-17-24-15-15 peaking during the peak of the steroid era, and that 57 happens in the year B*nds hit 73, and he goes from toothpick-thin to megaripped, and his body falls apart just as the heat on steroid users is turned up, well...stomp your feet all you want, he's going to be in the conversation.

Compare the famous '01 World Series photo of Gonazlez' massive guns with 1977 George Foster (52 HR) and tell us with a straight face those numbers of Gonzalez' were on the level.

They're not trying to sell lapel pins.

no, i understand, and i'm not "stomping my feet".

the thing is, kendrick blew up his own player. that was what was asinine about that. the merits aside from whether Gonzo was on PEDs or not, his own damn owner made those allegations.

and as i said above, he then did it to either CY or J-Up. one of them had a shoulder injury about the first week of the season, the rehab took longer than thoguth, and maybe 3-4 weeks ago Kendrick opened his big fat yap again, and questioned the player's commitment.

annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnddddd....

I'm also mad at Kendrick for shifting to red as the predominant color. for years i've been mad about this.

yeah, MLB needed another red team.

Red Sox
Reds
Nationals
Cardinals
Angels
Phillies
Snakes

and to an extent, you can count the Braves and Astros as they have red alt uniforms.

say what you want about teh Teal and Purple, that shiat was ours. now we're just another red team. hell i took my oldest to a game vs nats or phils, i forget, and she asked me, "which one are the good guys?" because there's two godamn red teams out there.

Sounds just like a single statistical outlier. It happens.

Ya know, you'd think if he was juicing that he would be able to make a half-way decent throw from left. My sister could've gotten a ball home quicker than him. All he could do was launch a couple of rainbows on a prayer and hope the runner stubbed his toe.

ha. yeah.....not exactly a cannon in left field!

i've run into him several times in phoenix. he's always got time for an autograph/picture. you hear all those stories about athletes who can't be bothered, every time i've seen Gonz he has time for everybody.

Not just in baseball - in football, we went from this

to this

scrapetv.com

in order to sell league merchandise.
