Bonus: she has two other dead babies.

Takahashi, whose first child died a few days after birth and who lost another son in a fall from an apartment balcony, told police she had been using chatrooms, media reported.

OK - the first one was not her fault, obviously. The second one... well, that could happen to even the best parent ever. Terrible accidents sometimes happen to people who are in no way at fault.

And then there's this shiat. Whiskey... Tango... Foxtrot...

Actually, I guess she did. If only there were some OTHER way to prevent having to do this.

A 29-year-old mother who has already lost two children prior to this did not give a second thought to leaving an infant with a fever alone for almost a day? Is there no maternal instinct in this person at all?

I pity any kid of hers that manages to survive childhood. How messed up are they going to be?

Hmmm, maybe. But seeing how her third died due to her neglect says a lot about how the second one died falling off an apartment balcony.

And "well, that could happen to even the best parent ever" ya know, that's only true for very loose definitions of "the best"

Why do these articles always seem to be from places like Japan?

Not saying us westerners don't neglect children, I just mean that specific type of neglect, where the parent(s) were too absorbed in the internet to check on their children or care for them properly.
Like that one couple that was so absorbed in an online game and their personas on there that they caused their child to die from malnutrition because they rarely got off the internet to feed them. I seem to remember the point of the game they were playing was to keep your virtual child alive, which made it even more "wtf" but I could be mixing up one article with another.

That sounds good but there's a difference between being capable of being a good parent and having the stamina to stick with it for 18 years. Especially the first couple of years. You're ON 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

"One child's death is a terrible tragedy. Multiple child deaths is murder."

Can't remember the name of the ME who first said this, but it was after the myth that SIDS is hereditary was debunked.

Unless that first death took place in the hospital when she was nowhere near the baby or was 100% supervised with it, she is not off the hook. The balcony fall - could be a terrible accident. Could be she pushed him. Could be she left the balcony in an unsafe condition and left the child deliberately unsupervised. Unfortunately, no one will probably ever know.

And this last one, there is no excuse. None.

I'm working in Japan now, and let me tell you: it ain't easy to get birth control here. The pill, for example, was legalized fairly recently, and most doctors still refuse to prescribe it. Folks in my company were told to wean themselves off of it before they came over. Condoms are around, but they're still unpopular-ish (relatively). By far, the most common form of BC is abortion. That being said, there's a lot of pressure for women to start popping out kids by their mid to late 20s.

Not that this excuses this specimen's behavior, though. If I were a guy, she'd be the kind of girl I'd be scared to meet.

On a serious note: the reason psycho moms keep forming babbies only to kill them is that they are serious AWs. It's similar to Munchausen by Proxy : they get pregnant for the attention that pregnant women get, and then they get sympathy and attention that a woman who loses a child gets. They likey, so lather, rinse, repeat.

Neither birth control nor abortion would give them this result.

Some people only have them because they're selfish and irresponsible. Some folks I know who have kids, I wouldn't even trust babysitting my spider plants for a weekend. On the other hand, some of the more responsible people I know are smart enough to realize that they shouldn't have babies. (It's possible there's a movie out there based on this idea).

Killing your child is killing your child. Just like there's no real difference between shooting yourself and seeing dr kevorkian. killing yourself is killing yourself whether you do it yourself or have a professional administer the goods for you.

same with this chick. she killed her babies. she made the decision to kill her babies. doesn't matter whether she had a healthcare professional do the do, or she took matters into her own hands.

I take that back. there is a difference. maybe people want to believe there is a lessening of personal responsibility if someone else deals the final blow.

and finally: yes, the pill and the patch and other contraceptive methods do prevent pregnancy and childbearing. abortion is NOT a contraceptive method, however. conception has taken place. life was created. it is murder. state-sanctioned, like the electric chair, but still murder.

Sounds about right. They need to market a drug that simulates the outward appearance of pregnancy for these biatches. They can have all the attention the world gives to pregnant women (because women are still worthless, at the end of the cultural day, unless they're breeding, why else the desperate boom in IVF bullshiat among single women and couples?) without actually creating a new life.

And if the drug is abused, the only one hurt is the female, not an innocent child.

Doesn't wash. Most would be extra attentive to another child (almost to the point of obsession) if they lost one in a terrible accident like falling off a balcony. Not this poor excuse for a mother.

Snerk at the Guild reference.

Truly though, what gets me is she's upset about the death of her other children, so found comfort in chat rooms discussing aid baby's death. Wouldn't you think she'd keep an eye on baby number three? I mean, seriously. If you know parenting is such a hassle, just give it up for adoption. Lots of people want newborn babies to adopt.
