Launch Code: At what income level do the new obamacare taxes start. I make 75k a year, the wife makes 40k. I can tailor my truck driving job to get the free medical but not pay the new tax, but by how much?More time at home but less money, whatever. I thought he said he wasn't going to raise our taxes.

Good thing Obamacare was upheld because it sounds like you're having a neurological event.

THANK YOU

I've said before, Blitzer has got to be the dumbest man on TV. Speaking as someone who absolutely hates Fox News, I think CNN is the sh*t that's shat out when a larger sh*t sandwich has another sh*t sandwich for breakfast.

That's some weapon grade stupid there, sparky. You really should stop watching fox news.

He's a truck driver so he's probably listening to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck all day.

Shrugging Atlas: It really is remarkable how farking bad CNN has become. Every single facet of it. The anchors/personalities, the programming lineup. I mean even their website is a farking trainwreck.

Look at this crap from 'This Just In' section where the bulk of the 'news' they cover can be found on the main page. It's just rows of hyperlinks on unrelated subjects. I mean look at this pile of fail on their right now:

• Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes split | Photos
• 5 ways to cope with heat | U.S. bakes...

It's like Drudge without the sirens.

Why Fareed Zakaria has a show on there (granted one buried at a horrible timeslot one day a week) is beyond me.

Fox = conservative
MSNBC = liberal
CNN = tarded

When I want my late-breaking Kardashian news, I tune in to CNN.

Dear mother of God, this.

Was visiting friends (including one from Germany) a year or three back when the Great Tohoku Earthquake hit Japan...and the comment had come up earlier that "Here in America, if we want to find out real news, we hit either the Daily Show and Colbert Report or we go to international media such as the BBC and Deutsche Welle and the Australian ABC". They were a little surprised and puzzled at first why Americans would rely on comedy shows and international state broadcasters for their news.

About three hours into trying to find ANY info on American news media about the Tohoku quake that DIDN'T go into the latest news on (INSERT CELEBRITY HERE) within about five minutes, they understood. Boy, did they understand. The actual comment was made to the effect that German tabloid media might actually report more news than the US media does O_o (It's pretty farking sad that pretty much the best media outlet to watch re the quake...was, up until the announcement of OMFG MELTDOWN, the goddamn Weather Channel for crying out loud. And of course the Weather Channel has now turned into the Search And Rescue Channel, that is, when it's not being the Blue-Collar Major Project Construction Channel, The "Let's See What TV Show We Can Make In Alaska And/Or The Northwest Territories of Canada" Channel, Or The General Stormgasm Channel (the latter being one of the rare precious times that they actually show anything resembling weather coverage when most of Dixie Alley isn't being actively hoovered--and THAT normally only when they have Stormgasm Reporters on the spot...will say it before, will say it again...Jim Cantore shows up to your town, just leave, just walk away, because it's gonna be gone soon enough)...so Gods only knows if they'd deign to show coverage when (say) Cascadia blows. Might have to rely on the Canadian coverage through CBC or (gods forbid) the Weather Network...

So you're saying we need billionaires to give massive chunks of money to make up for the ultra-liberal media that has no conservative voice whatsoever?

Dafatone: I'm all for publicly financed (and only publicly financed) campaigns, but union and corporation contributions aren't equal. Also, the issue right now isn't corporate contributions so much as it is one billionaire throwing millions upon millions of dollars into a race. At least a union is (presumably) a lot of people, and none of those people are billionaires.

Hmmm ... I thought I wrote that:

Or we could, ya know, get rid of private campaign finance completely so money has zero say in our elections.

When I say "private campaign finance" I mean all money except for standard government allotments. I.E. if you get enough signatures to be on the ballot you and your opponent both get a small (compared to today) stack of money to go out and campaign.

Yes, I mean corporate and union. I apologize if I wasn't clear on that, but I guess I see unions and corporations as two sides of the same evil, private coin.

Same here. I get tired hearing about how biased and misinformed they are. I get tired of hearing their delusions and claims that the country is suffering now more than ever. I get tired of the implied racism and overt hatred exhibited by their anchors especially knowing that they are educated enough to know better. I get tired of socialism and hearing the same phrases parroted by them and their ilk. Stupid Stewart showing us their flaws.

For people who seem to only get their information from Fox News (and are thus clueless), your taxes are going up by a jillionty dollars.

For the rest of us, if we have medical insurance, they don't go up at all.

Modern US news is a couple of old ladies gossiping over the fence. It is NOTHING more. Sure you have the crazy paranoid Fox News lady who keeps complaining about the chem trails, but it doesn't mean the other old ladies aren't parroting random facts they heard or just thought up in their heads.
