I've been following closely ever since the primaries... the amount of lying Romney did before was what you'd expect from a politician, the amount he's done since Santorum dropped out has been exponentially worse. Like, there-just-might-be-something-wrong-with-his-wiring type of bad. Like "I can't see how this won't come crashing back down on him" bad. I'm glad it's finally getting some coverage....

This is exactly true. This was true of John McCain in the last election. Neither John McCain nor Mitt Romney is the source of their own words. Their GOP handlers tell them what to say at every turn. They're just doing what they're told - who knows what either of those two men believes about anything. The reason John McCain lost was that he became a generic GOP talking head - the same thing that Mitt Romney is making himself out to be.

Mitt lies constantly, keeps getting debunked, and keeps repeating the same lies. This works because a significant portion of the mainstream media doesn't bother calling out lies. They want to be "balanced". It still works even if they do because Republicans have successfully created their own massive propaganda spewing media conglomerate and convinced people that any other media outlets are liberal bullshiat.

Conservatives and the media they consume have no basis in truth. It doesn't matter. So many of these people simply ignore other news sources. They have their own made up "facts" that are substituted for reality whenever the GOP wants.

What really should scare the shiat out of Americans is the 2016 election.

My prediction:

Democrats lose both the House and Senate, but President Obama hold the White House. For four years we then see an unprecedented amount of veto's and lack of compromise between Congressional and Executive branches to repair anything. Due to lack of oversight, maintenance the American economy stumbles and falls into another recession.

With Americans facing a dismal economy, poor job prospects, mounting debt and various other services that have gone to hell in a hand basket, the 2016 election is a toss-up between both sides of the aisle. Everyone is interested to see who the Democrats will eventually primary in, but everyone knows how the "next in line" Republicans operate so we already know who their winner will be.

Several months later after a harsh election season the Republicans squeak out a White House victory. And on November 2nd America celebrates ..... President Santorum.

Even if he mostly lied to Hillary, I think part of the 'truth is optional' politics in the US started in the 90s. I thought back then the GOP would take advantage of it, and sure enough in came Gingrich and FauxNews. After the invasion of Iraq and "torture isn't torture" policies of Bush/Cheney, it's pretty tough to go back.
