patrick767: They arrested her at 3:30pm and her blood alcohol was .14 at 5pm. Damn. And the first arrest was at 9:30am? Someone needs to go to meetings.

To be fair to the situation, if she was a morning drive time news anchor, then she was probably just off of work and had hit the bar for happy hour at 9 something AM

noon drive time? 3:30pm is reasonable, and 5:30pm is late at night at that point to be blasted

see.. not everyone works a regular 9-5 job, and after work shenanigans can happen at most any time during the day.

for a few Industrial automatons jobs I had to do third shift, folks were getting off at 7Am and buying beer for the "night" at 7:30am, getting the icky looks from the morning commuters.

that being said... I work weekends and have to be at the beer mines on Sunday mornings at 7-8-9am (whatever).... I LOVE to watch the local news at 5am on a Sunday morning. because those are the entry level anchors and they are ALWAYS HAMMERED! especially the sports guy!

hell, I must be used to it.. I thought it was a rule that local news anchors were all drunks?

Musikslayer: karmaceutical: Agent Smiths Laugh: Sigh. I imagine she worked hard to earn her place in her career field, only to piss it all away on booze. Wonder what personal demons she's trying to drown.

Many people, many alcoholics even, would like there to be some personal failure or tragedy as the source, but sometimes Alcoholism is the problem, and not a symptom.

Been there, done that. 8 years sober.

Cool. Want to drive me to a bar and pick me up? It's fine if you don't, but it'll be on your head if I wipe out a kindergarten class on the way home. Just saying....

dletter: TrueKDC: 0.14 percent is only BAC 0.014 am I wrong? But then she continues to report that the legal limit is 0.08 percent in Indiana... If that's the case, don't even think of it. Smelling a beer might put you over... I had not heard of such a law.

No, and as I think you know, it is just a .08 BAC, not .08 "percent". But, most people have the math skills of a Verizon help desk person, so, goes with the territory.

Yeah, it is .08 percent. I've known somebody who had BAC .5 and survived. If it hadn't been percent, you would literally have been able to set his blood on fire with a lighter.

I don't know of a bar around here that's even open at 9am. I wouldn't be surprised if there are some, but it's probably just the dives. Not that it matters. She apparently gets her booze at Walgreens.

Egalitarian:
I have to drive the Interstate a lot and get bored so I pay attention to cars around me. When I switched from driving a large expensive-brand (used) wagon to a cheaper (new) hatchback, I suddenly found a lot more people getting up on my ass. I generally drive 5-10 mph over the limit so it's not like I'm being a turtle.

If you are in the left lane, you are a turtle. If you've got someone on your ass, move over to the right!

Who's the worst? Lexis SUVs, anything BMW, Cadillac Escalades and large Dodge Ram trucks. Add +20% chance of asshattery for black or other dark color. Not all dark-colored cars are driven idiotically, but it seems to be the color family of choice for jerk drivers.

My BF who drives a custom Forester gets much less tailgating because he's driving a bigger, more expensive vehicle. Thank you size-ist and price-ist jerks.

I bought my Dodge ram off the estate for $100. its old,(mid 90's) leaks, rusty, denty, big engine. nothing but steel all the way around.
I love driving it. I'm not a prick about driving as you pointed out about those other drivers. but I love driving it because its such a big, ugly looking truck that all those pricks you describe stay WELL AWAY from me! I can just hang in the middle lane, unmolested by the uppity drivers you pointed out.

I just wanted to bring up that point about the dodge rams, you mentioned and that not all of us are like that... My Ram is more of a pleasure craft nowadays any ways. I know of the uppity ram drive you speak of, and I would like you to rest assured that every last one of them will be saddled with transmission problems sooner than later

I used to drive a crown vic, that car was great.. Big, white... cops and cabbies waved at you... people behaved them selves around you and got out of your way...good times!

Never have I been more challenged on the road by asshat drivers than when I drove a Mini Cooper. Every BMW and Mercedes had to race me. It was creepy.

Also, and on the original thread topic, the lady in the mugshot looks like the Tanning Mom.

You are right... the original persons response made me trick myself on thinking about that (and I was going the other direction then). BAC is the % itself, which ie, 0.10 is .1% of the blood is alcohol.

So just so everyone is on the same page and knowing this is impossible but for sake of argument... 100% alcohol would be BAC 10.00? Seems counter-intuitive being as in any other situation a percentage would appear in terms of 1.00 being 100%

Um, I don't think so, I think 100% alcohol in your blood (well, I guess there wouldn't be any blood then, but, regardless)... would be BAC 100.00 .... 0.08 BAC is actually .08% of your blood being alcohol.

And forgot to mention... 9 times out of 10 across the street from each other.

/within 3 different directions of me I can go less than 3 miles and hit a Walgreens, and 2 of them have a CVS across the street.

AgentKGB: Who was that news reporter that had a sextape leak out of her farking a guy in her newsvan?

Allison Williams, WVEC-TV. I know this because it's in the filename of the video, which I have right here. It's a good one, although I didn't realize it was possible to let a guy stick it in and still be a tease, but she somehow manages!

I wonder if Miss Sally (link), who was the star of Romper Room in Baltimore when I was a kid, ever did anything like that?

Across town a big new Wal-Green's went up on one corner of a busy intersection on the way to the track and the airport, which took some business away from the old Rite-Aid up the street in a 1960s'-era strip mall. So a new Rite-Aid opened on the opposite corner, knocking down a car wash which had itself replaced an old funeral parlor (the former Rite Aid location is probably still empty). Between them they edged out a local pharmacy called Bondurant's whose unique building is now a drive-through liquor store. Then the CVS about a mile away moved a few blocks further out, also in a new building.

There are too damn many big-name chain drug stores in this town, most of them ugly. It's the same for big-name chain fast food places. How many of those monstrosities do you need in a city of only 295,803 people in 284.5 square miles?

But anyway.

There was a cute "perky" brunette (white, I think Jewish) news anchor in Baltimore I had a crush on when I was still young enough for such things ('70s-'80s) but I can't remember her name or even which station she worked for. She had kind of a page-boy hair style for a while... It wasn't Sally Thorner. This is driving me nuts. Any Farkers know?

She better be glad she didn't try using the Skittles excuse in FL
