The article includes no claims of racism, Subby.

How do you increase the partisanship of a political witch hunt?

Stop... you're both right.

I believe the Holder vote is their day jobs, Subby.

Sounds like Democrats will treat the Holder vote today with the respect and dignity that it deserves.

Dismissing a vote to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress as a "political stunt," a group of House Democrats, led by the Congressional Black Caucus, is planning to walk out of the House chamber on Thursday and boycott the vote.

The move mirrors a similar walk out by House Republicans in 2008 when Democrats, who then controlled the House, held a vote to hold two top Bush Administration officials in contempt of Congress.

Sounds like a legitimate form of protest to me.

This is what partisan Democrats actually believe.

2012-06-28 07:40:47 AM
Yeah... It's the Democrats that have increased the partisan bickering in Congress.

There's nothing dignified about the GOP these days and they've done absolutely nothing to earn any respect.

I can only assume this was a valiant and patriotic stand against the tyranny of the majority.

CBC will walk out as a gesture of protest when the Holder contempt vote takes place?

Just like the GOP did when the Dems tried to hold Bush officials in contempt?

Well, then I guess I will treat subby's headline with the dignity and respect it deserves. Just kidding actually I'mma frowning on subby's shenanigans.

Anyway, the vote will happen during the SC announcement, so it seems Boehner wanted the vote to be overlooked. He determines when such votes happen.

The people who are most outraged over this seem to be the ones who have Ronald Reagan as a hero and think he could do no wrong.

Hmmmm ...

Republicans are outraged. Democrats are putting forward a resolution holding White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten and former White House Counsel Harriet Miers in contempt of Congress. House GOP rank-and-file are planning a dramatic walk out when the vote is called.

So both sides are bad?

Oh come on, submitter's grade-school level playing of the race card card is just a different OPINION from yours, and is a perfectly valid viewpoint.

Issa literally announced his plans for witch hunts ages ago. He declared Obama as corrupt prior to even investigating anything. This is just back-filling with the first thing he could find and it tells me he hasn't found anything else.

I don't think that can be truly said. He may speak for you, but generally he's a little too out there for me. But we are a big tent party, so the more the merrier. I do agree with him that this isn't racism, even if you don't.

Sharpton is an idiot. They don't care that Holder is black. They just want to neutralize the office of the Attorney General prior to him doing anything about the state's voter suppression laws coming online before November. They figure if they can impeach Holder, they can block any new appointment until after the election and keep down the Democrat votes.

I think the average American gave up paying attention to this long a go. I follow politics and even I barely care.

It really doesn't matter what actually happened; nothing will come of this.

See? They've got their marching orders. This is "corruption" because that's what Issa needs it to be. He made some pretty big statements that he needs cover for.

Didn't Issa come out and specifically say that Holder wasn't directly involved in the Fast and Furious operation and had no part in organizing it? If so, why is this vote still proceeding?

2012-06-28 08:23:22 AM
The political witch hunt of Holder is clearly an attempt at revenge for the Attorney General's brave stand against the Republican agenda of suppressing minority voters, their war on woman, and the elderly. Without his leadership Republicans would roll back the clock on civil rights by decades.

This vote deserves no respect. It's an abuse of Congressional authority, blindly partisan, and an empty gesture without legal merit.
