DrSkanky: The sparkle that shines

Not to be funny but doesn't she seem a little older than 25 years of age?

I'm pretty sure I'd let her sit on my bench. I wouldn't mind if she took off the disco pants first.

FTA: "There is no official dress code for media or spectators, but as a guideline the Ministry of Justice website suggests women should wear a dress or a blouse and skirt, or a blouse and long pants. Jeans are also acceptable."

If the code isn't official, it isn't fair to officially punish someone for straying from a vague guideline.

/Legal, maybe.
//Not fair.

WTF Google, I tried to do a GIS of New Zealand court and New Zealand judge to see what a judge dresses like and every result is a picture of Kim Dotcom and no pictures of courts or judges.

I had no idea who that was but it appears he was in a NZ court once and a lot of pictures were taken...

According to her recent blog posting, this sequinista has a lovely wife named Nicole. Perhaps she was simply dressed for a evening at the roller derby after work?

Chinchillazilla: She added: "I don't know why people are acting like they've never seen sequinned pants before."

I don't think the issue is that no one's ever seen them. It's that no one should ever have to see them.

Precisely. If it was my court, I'd have had her shot merely for owning such things.

And yet she loves shirtless men. Women like this are just super needy. Whomever is closest and most agreeable will do for a fling. Just don't expect her to stay rational or fair. Her gigantic, all consuming emotions will always come first.

Ah, but you are wrong. Attorneys can be sanctioned from the bench for wearing inappropriate attire. In the case of lawyers, that is usually anything that's not a suit. Court reporters get a little leeway because of their relationship to the judge and the court; but there is NO reason to wear a whore-suit to work no matter where you are, and a court of law still less.

(unless you are a whore)

She looks like a late 70s/early 80s hooker that used to work the corner near Times Square. Just switch the black shirt for a purple tube top.

Let us just all be honest here. She was kicked out of court because she is stupid.

Why would you do this stupid lady?

Now, take them off while we call your mother. To join us. Ooooooooh yeaaaaahhhhhhh.....

feckingmorons: It does seem a bit out of place in Court. Wouldn't someone who is a court reporter have proper attire for work?

Oddly jeans are OK, perhaps jorts too.

When I have to appear in Court I wear a suit of dark gray or blue. (I don't own loud colors I'm Republican).

nope. i am scheduled for jury duty early next week. so when i am ready to go, the temps will be peaking around 110f, and they want to be sure i am wearing a sensible pair of long pants.

Just curious--what actual US law or statute covers that?

I suppose the 1st Amendment wouldn't cover free expression in a courtroom, since it isn't Congress making the law, if there even is one...

giantpiraterobot: I find that a lot of women don't know what's appropriate for different settings. Guys have it easier, I know. We learned in middle school that for the field trip we had to wear a button down shirt and a tie. Girls just wore a skirt with a tee shirt, much like they may have the day before.

At thirty, they're doing the same thing when their husband is in a suit and tie. Different dress code levels? What do they mean?

What the what?? Where the hell did you go to middle school??

Judges usually have a listing of what their preferences are, and as an attorney you follow them to show respect to the Court. Spectators should be told by the Court personnel and I believe that is what happened in this case.

I thought she was an official reporter, not a journalist. The idiocy of a journalist is to be expected.

In a courtroom, you have no rights. That's what stops spectators from being allowed to stand up and scream "HANG THE SONOFABIATCH!!!" midway through a jury trial. Some judges are more lenient than others, but the judge rules the courtroom, and if he wants everyone to show up wearing scuba gear and burkas, then he can, and you can be kicked out for failure to do so.
