He did a powerpoint display to refute the story????? The guy really is a robot.

To be fair, there is actually a difference between the two. One is permanently moving jobs out of the country, and the other is contracting a third party (who may or may not be in the same country) to take over some jobs.

Thanks to that robot I got information that Bain was responsible for a call center (Stream International) that cost a local city here in Montana jobs and money.

I get to use this as proof to the dumbfarks on an editoral blog. yee haw. Local ammuniton till the election.

I thought they outshored the jobs and offsourced the money?

Ok, then, we'll cut through the semantics and just say that Bain screwed American workers relentlessly and without conscience or remorse

/better?

Romney campaign officials repeatedly declined requests to comment on Bain's record of investing in outsourcing firms during the Romney era. Campaign officials have said it is unfair to criticize Romney for investments made by Bain after he left the firm but did not address those made on his watch. In response to detailed questions about outsourcing investments, Bain spokesman Alex Stanton said, "Bain Capital's business model has always been to build great companies and improve their operations. We have helped the 350 companies in which we have invested, which include over 100 start-up businesses, produce $80 billion of revenue growth in the United States while growing their revenues well over twice as fast as both the S&P and the U.S. economy over the last 28 years."

Interesting. They refuse to acknowledge the press until something bad comes to light. Romney is indeed proving by deed how he will preside over this nation. What they say means nothing, because they say nothing. What they do and who they have doing it, that matters. See John Bolton and Kris Kobach for 2 examples of how he'll handle matters if elected. See Richard Grenell for how he'll defend his supporters.

DO. NOT. WANT.

To most, that is a distinction without a difference, which is why WaPo is not retracting the story.

Typical liberals.

Romney went above and beyond to explain to WaPo why they were incorrect.
Of course that would involve reading both sides and forming your own opinion, something Farkers abhor.
Let yourselves be worked into a fury over this non issue, we don't care.

Liberals will be proven wrong in the eyes of history time and time again.

So in 3 of the 5 companies wapo is claiming extending a foreign workforce for foreign goods is outsourcing? Are they aware that international companies exist? This is sounding a lot like the Boeing union suit where expanding new jobs, not old, is suddenly illegal.

I really wonder about the right leaning voters in this country. With Reagan you got flowery prose and dinner before getting it in the pooper. Dubya's crowd draped a flag over it before cornholing us. RMoney will do us dry then hose us off afterward.

Poor Mittens, who'd a thunk that all that hard work & bootstrappyness he displayed during his tenure at Bain Capital would come back and force him to change words, word meanings & hide his innocent Capitalist ways.
That's another thing, he sure is secretive, obviously a lot to hide.

what a lousy Capitalist, he steamrolls the little guy & doesn't even have the honor of admitting what he did & bragging about how much profit he made off the deal, I bet the Koch brothers ridicule him when he's not at the clubhouse.

I really hate it when someone feels the need to explain the difference between "outsourcing" and "offshoring" because 99% of the time it's the same thing.

And f*ck yeah it should be illegal. When this country is bubbling along at 5% unemployment, then you can muse as to whether your country should move somewhere overseas. Not until then, and you bet there will still be penalties for doing it.

Romney can't win because he don't have records.

We left with the rest. Pretty simple.

Okay, fair enough, they used the wrong term to describe the very bad thing Romney did to jobs.

Wait, so you didn't find other people to do the jobs, but sent the jobs to other countries forever?

Mission retracted!

If you read tfa, you'll see that the Romney campaign was asked for a response repeatedly when this article first ran, and repeatedly refused to comment.

Then they come back a week later -- which may as well be a century for all the good that much delay will do you in modern politics -- and ask for a retraction. Without even backing up the demand.

When it comes down to it, whether Romney is technically correct is less than irrelevant. Aggressive, rapid response to an accusation is essential to control the public's perception, and the time to fire back at WaPo was about 6 days, 23 1/2 hours ago. Face it: the Romney campaign blew this. Now they look like a bunch of amateurs.

If that is the kind of half-assery we can expect to be brought against the juggernaut that is the Obama campaign, this election is going to be an absolute blood bath.

Big business has looked at outsourcing and outright shipping the jobs overseas
with a salivating grin of pure greed. It's also a strike back at 70 years of unions
pushing up the wage of the average worker. The greed barons look at it as
their money being used to pay workers instead of bolstering their offshore accounts.
Oh the horror. To think the proles actually thought they could actually be paid a decent wage
for putting bolts on widgets and other things 8 hours a day. That'll show em.

In other news US Widgets profits down as no one can afford to buy their products.

Not really. Bush was actually a lot more moderate than many people realized....before he was elected. Once he got in the big chair though, he pretty much let the party leaders tell him how to govern and they were on a decent into madness. He let Cheney do whatever the hell he wanted, and gave a rubber stamp to whatever the republican congress passed. He didn't issue a single veto until the dems took majority of the house.

THAT is the kind of president Romney is going to be. He's going to be a rubber stamp for whatever crazy the republican party whips up. There is just no indication that he'll be anything but, partly becuase he's not inclined to tell anyone what he'll do.

Won't it be great when your IRS audit is conducted by phone from Bangalore? Just think, for a fraction of the price they'll be able to audit thousands and thousands more people every year.
