Is Romney a Trumper? Will he be asking to see Obama's birth certificate soon?

He's Schrodinger's candidate. His positions, his ideas, his plans, and even his physical state are all contingent on being observed. Prior to that, he is the goddamn macro-level expression of a quantum superposition.

Well Trump could have a fundraiser that Romney doesn't attend. But the fact that Romney is incapable of giving a straight answer on anything ever got old a long time ago. I dunno how you can vote for a man when you have no idea what he would actually do in office.

I still don't understand the romance between the GOP and Trump. It's not like they're winning anyone's hearts over it.

They're alienating at least SOMEBODY. And anyone who genuinely likes Trump in a political landscape was already voting Republican in the first place.

Who farking cares? Trump may be a vain asshat, but he's not a retard. He's the epitome of what GOPers strive to be. And, honestly, anyone else. Who doesn't want to be a success*?

The only thing that's REALLY out in left (right?) field with Trump is his birther stance (that I know of, so far). Outside of that, who cares?

/*not counting his bankruptcys

The only thing I can think of why R'Money would be "distancing" himself from Trump is because Trump is a birther. And they must think it will alienate the undecided voters.

If Trump really was a successful businessman he wouldn't have to tell us how successful he is every 30 seconds.

I get what you're saying, but Trump's wealth comes from his branding. Less bragging, less wealth. He is nothing but self-promotion. He pretty much has to do it.

I'm starting to suspect that Trump wants Obama to be re-elected, and that he and Obama actually planned this whole thing for the sole purpose of making the Republicans look like nitwits.

I don't think Trump is clever or disciplined enough to pull off something that big. He's just milking the attention machine. He doesn't give a crap who wins.

Yep, he sells the illusion of a successful businessman.

I'm a single issue voter, and that issue is comedic value.

Please Mitt, please ask Trump to be your running mate. I know it will probably never happen, but a man can hope.

I think it is sad that Mitt Romney wont take a stance on anything. I don't think he has no platform, I just think that he knows that the republican platform is so shiatty that he can't run on it.

What has happened to the Grand Ole Party? My has it fallen.

"Asked in the deposition about his statements in 2007 that his net worth was $8 billion, Trump conceded: "I don't know. I don't think so. Well, maybe I'm adding 4 or 5 billion dollars worth, 3 billion, for the value of a brand. But I don't know.""

Trump to Romney:
You know damn well I was at that dinner, and you swore to me that I would have a fair hearing at that dinner! Did you not?! Did you not?! Well, tell me I was at least at the dinner! A-allow me that much. Give me that much at least!

This will be the greatest, swankiest, classiest no-show by a Presidential candidate in the history of political fundraising!

I wonder if this is a Super PAC issue. Does Trump have a Super PAC that he's using to donate money to the Romney campaign? That way Romney can pass this off as just a "We were coincidentally in the same place at the same time," or something. But not admitting it was a planned event, he may be able to get around regulations that say a candidate can't discuss strategy directly with a Super PAC.

Romney's platform is "I'm better than Obama, but I can't tell you why."

He expects his voters to understand that the unspoken reasons are "I'm white and I'm anti-gay".
