The couple will celebrate their vows with a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn. at a later date.

I guess that'll happen after he's released. Why leave one jail sentence for another?

Way to set your life's goals high, young lady. Fark is so proud of you.

He's always heard marriage referred to as the old ball and chain, so he's just dressing appropriately.

Police, Court Briefs - May 24, 2012

Madison man pleads guilty to charges
A Madison man pleaded guilty Wednesday to several charges, including one related to a home invasion.

Joshua W. Torrance, 26, was sentenced to five years in prison on charges from three separate cases: One charge of theft, a Class D felony; one charge of disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor; and a probation violation.

Torrance, who agreed to a plea deal with prosecutors, received the maximum sentence he could receive on each charge.

The theft charge was from an April 2011 case when Torrance broke into a home and stole a television. The disorderly conduct charge was from a fight at the Jefferson County Jail.

The probation violation came from a 2009 case in which Torrance pleaded guilty to theft of alcohol from a store. He was sentenced to three years in that case, with one and one-half years suspended to probation.

Torrance received three years for the theft charge, 180 days for the disorderly conduct charge and one and one-half years for the probation violation.

I'm guessing that the plea deal was for lesser charges rather than for lesser sentences. I don't know though, he could just be a dumbass criminal with a shiatty lawyer.

Wearing his OJs. Some folks don't know how to pick mates. Sheesh, you'd find better on Yahoo! Singles and that's nearly the bottom, except for possibly plentyoffish.

CSB:
One year at college, I got stuck on the commuter rail during finals week. The train broke down, and we were all stuck. My final was later in the day, so I wasn't too worried, but many others were. One rather large woman started bawling her eyes out. Turns out she was on her way to the prison facility near the college to get married. She missed her own prison wedding because that commuter rail broke down.

Narrator: As the 21st century began, human evolution was at a turning point. Natural selection, the process by which the strongest, the smartest, the fastest, reproduced in greater numbers than the rest, a process which had once favored the noblest traits of man, now began to favor different traits. Most science fiction of the day predicted a future that was more civilized and more intelligent. But as time went on, things seemed to be heading in the opposite direction. A dumbing down. How did this happen? Evolution does not necessarily reward intelligence. With no natural predators to thin the herd, it began to simply reward those who reproduced the most, and left the intelligent to become an endangered species

So much this.
I was bumming around LinkedIn looking for new recruits for the technical assistance center I work at, and stumbled upon an "interesting" entry, something about "Worldwide Tech Superstar" for the title....

He listed his GED as the only bullet point under "education." On LinkedIn.

Not if it's a home invasion. That has to be one of the worst things for anyone to experienced.
