It today's news, local farmer Lon Duc Dong was fined for creating a traffic hazard when he took his flock of ducks for a walk downtown.

Most ducks that are used for their meat production have had the ability to fly bred out of them over the years. They are just too big for their wings to support them and can usually only fly a couple feet in the air for super short few feet distances. The most common one is the pekin (the Aflac duck) but most domestic breeds are unable to fly.

Wild ducks and call ducks are usually always able to fly. Then sometimes people who have those kinda clip their wings so at that point they are unable to fly.

These ducks in the article look to be meat producing ducks...kudos to that guy for herding that many! We only have a handful and I have never been able to herd them.
