(RTT News)   Experts recommend that doctors screen for obesity. Apparently, looking at the patient and saying "You so fat, little patients orbit you" isn't sufficient   (rttnews.com) divider line 6

Sybarite: Oh won't some Olympic athlete please come into this thread to save us all from the fraud of BMI?

I laughed.

The BMI is right more often than it is wrong.

Not to mention if you are a bloated two fisted food blister, you know you are a bloated two fisted food blister.

Have you checked your doctor's credentials closely?

What ChimbleySweep's doctor might look like.

People sure do have a overblown respect for the capability of doctors. Generally, most of them are fairly stupid. Take all Kaiser doctors, for example. They look at your height, then your weight, look at a chart and note that you are outside some range of the combination and say "You are obese."

I have a BMI of about 13-15. My rest heart rate is 45 with comparable blood pressure. I just finished a 300 mile bike event in less than 21 hours this last Saturday. I can do a sub 4 hour marathon. The doctor tells me that I'm obese.

I realize that most Americans are fat gobs of lazy crap, but doctors these days really do not have the capacity to go beyond some charts that are on the wall. Think of them as bad IT people with more attitude.

Screen?
Like put up smaller doors so the fat folks can't get into the office?

They can't really install stairs, but maybe a long ramp would give the same effect.

The obesity screenings should start with the Federal government and Congress.
How many would pass?

Fat farks don't need to be told they're fat farks, they know. They just don't care.
