Wow, that is a *LONG* Elantra. I've never hear of a stretch limo that long before, nor of a Hyundai being made into one.

No, it's just an abbreviation for the Elantra from the year 9712.

Better buy stock in Rent 'n Roll.

No, just another news article that has nothing to do with actual lending practices. The average credit rating for a mortgage has gone up from 701 to 749 in the last 6 months.

What's a 97-prime Elantra? One in good condition? The first one to roll off the assembly line? A Transformer?

Minivans. I saw a guy with huge chrome rims on his minivan the other day. He had a little kid in the back seat and the stereo turned up so loud it was shaking windows as he drove by.

Some people are just lousy human beings, I guess.... at least the kid was in a car seat, even if he's now deaf and brain-damaged. Which will probably lead him to put 20 inch chrome rims on a 2004 Dodge minivan some day....

/ the whole chrome rims on a minivan thing is pretty common

TheGreatGazoo: Sadly, not a joke

I'd really like to know how much money they successfully charge people in order to cover the costs of rented wheels that get brought back with tons of curb rash and tires that get worn out within a year or two of driving..

Ehhh... that whole retarded "donk" thing is still going strong. People are still buying shiatty old gramma-Chevys and putting dangerously oversized wheels on them left and right. Although the paint jobs are sometimes pretty nifty.

And, of course, when I say "people" in all this I mean "poor, uneducated black people who live in crappy apartments and run down houses in the city because they spent all their money on their crappy cars". Apparently these retarded fads haven't quite caught on with all the little white suburban rebels yet. They're still mostly stuck on the whole "Fast and the Furious" coffee can exhaust and poorly thought out chip mod crap, but even that's starting to wane I've noticed.

/ car modding in my day was more about actual modding, but it still mostly resulted in half-assed crap jobs just like today

I'm guessing the down payment is probably pretty close to the wholesale price. Any payments they get after that is just pure profit. Sort of like the 'Buy Here/Pay Here' lots.

/yes, I actually drive that

Don't blame me, I'm doing my part to push that average down!

/refi'ing with a 710 score and saving thousands a year

Yeah, but they still wont let me purchase a second renthouse for 20% down, and have six months in the bank for it and my current house verifiable

In other words, I have to have around 40k of liquidity available to buy a 108k house to sublet. In 2008 I got my first without any money down at all.

I understand having tighter lending standards, but this is ridiculous.

Maybe I should go mess up my credit so I can get better terms...............

And the single biggest scam in the financial industry is starting to slowly spin its wheels again.

Good news for everyone but the schmuck with poor money habits, I suppose.
