We're getting a shiatload of "global warming" right now. And when I say "global warming," I mean precipitation from all the extra moisture in the air from our oceans evaporating.

F*cking rain. :-/

We were over 100 yesterday, but I'm in Texas and it's June so I'm not going to go weeping to the government about global warming.

Because weather is the same as climate when it's hot. It's only completely different when it's cold.

At first I was like "that's pretty awesome." And then I remembered what it's like to drink when it's that hot. There are no winners to Fahrenhammered. Only losers.

Tatterdemalian: "Because weather is the same as climate when it's hot. It's only completely different when it's cold."

To be fair: when the biatching about the heat is about hotter than normal temperatures, for the entire summer, again, it's at least a little closer to legit.
That is, compared to the cherry picking of aberrant lows that, as a trend, are happening fewer times per year.
Which is admittedly a pretty farkin low bar.

No meme, it's a fact. No one has ever been able to answer the question as to why hot water freezes faster than cold, yet we think we have a total understanding of how climate works. Hubris, plain and simple.

The Mpemba effect is complicated and not fully understood, so global warming doesn't exist. I can't even count the number of logical fallacies in this thought process.

Hot water does not freeze faster than cold water.

Think about it ... as it cools, it passes the temperature that the cold water started at.

/unless you think it magically skips that temperature

Yes, just because we can't figure out one thing, that must mean we can't figure out something else. [/sarcasm]
And nobody said we have a *total* understanding of climate. What we have are theories which currently have a lot of experimental data confirming them. If you have another theory which fits the data, by all means, submit it to the nearest scientific journal.

Actually they found several mechanisms - including that the hot water partially evaporates so there is less of it to cool by the time it gets to freezing. But much like weather everything is connected and there are second-order and higher-order effects which can dominate. Welcome to nature, where chaos rules.

Thats not what i said, but nice obfuscation. I am only pointing out that we dont even know why something simple like hot water freezing faster than cold yet claim to know what causes climate change. A mystery that has been wrangled since Aristotle in the 4th century BC has not been solved yet something as young and complicated as climate change has a consensus= fact lable. Never said it was not warming, we know it has warmed and cooled many times in the lifetime of the planet.
