I have a feeling that I won't be watching this.

2003-11-12 10:21:58 AM
I will but I'm retarded.

The kids from the original are a little older now.

Better call the next one Goonies 2: Adventures in Mortgage Payments and Hair Loss

There's been a couple of Goonies 2 scripts doing the rounds for a couple of years. I wonder if this is one of them?

2003-11-12 10:31:33 AM
Hopefully this is a Larry Flynt-type move.

Heh... do a GIS for "Sloth" and you'll see something interesting.

From the "What the hell are they thinking" files....

2003-11-12 11:28:21 AM
At least you know the original actors won't have much of a problem trying to make time in their schedule to film this one.

Thanks Sven_Burger

You made the list.

I just rented the Goonies DVD last month cause I hadn't seen the movie in about 10 years. Boy, was I diappointed. It seemed alot cooler when I was in about 4th grade.

2003-11-12 11:39:20 AM
man... Houldn't he be putting all his energy into that upcoming ET2 movie?

2003-11-12 11:41:47 AM
Let's just hope he's pulling a Larry Flint - that he's doing this to keep the public from seeing it.

2003-11-12 11:42:35 AM
Damn you earthrhino! You even spelled Flynt right.

Has anyone else watched the DVD with the Director/Cast commentary? One of the cast, Marth Plimpton, kept making comments about all the sexual innuendos in the film. She kept saying "Hey, there goes the thing through the hole" and "There's another hole to crawl through" and stuff. Finally she starts to make another comment about "a thing poking through a hole" and the director says "Hey, shhh", and she says "Okay, okay." It's really funny.

It's a bit early to say this is going to get made. I imagine they haven't even got round to sending Wil his rejection letter yet.

(sorry Wil, just teasing)

2003-11-12 12:23:56 PM
YES! Sweet jesus my life is finally complete!

2003-11-12 12:25:37 PM
Wil was in The Goonies? ;)

Spielberg usually has pretty good instincts. If anyone could pull off a decent production of what appears to be an awful script, it's Spielberg.

But, then again, he did produce Gremlins 2.

2003-11-12 12:26:14 PM
hopefully there will be more pirates and mobsters(errr that's prob. not pc, maybe non-law abiders) with guns and swords(hmmm, not good either, prob. walkie talkies).

2003-11-12 12:39:33 PM
Sudie:- I think I remember reading he wanted to be in it.

2003-11-12 12:45:42 PM
Finally a movie to go with the game!

2003-11-12 12:46:27 PM
Woot! Goonies. I'm such a dork, I will turn on the TV and if it's on, I will sit there and watch it.

Hopefully it's good. Of course, I recall there supposedly being a Lost Boys II Script that never got done because both Coreys who were supposed to be in it were in jail at the time.

So who knows. The original idea I heard about it was that Mikey was getting married in this one. Not sure that's a good idea, but we can always see.

"That's what I said! Booty trap!"

2003-11-12 12:47:45 PM
Man the goonies is probably one of my favorite movies ever... but this is a bad idea.

2003-11-12 12:48:38 PM
Corey Feldman should play the new Sloth.

Corey: "Hey kids, maybe your careers can turn out as good as mine...Baby Ruth."

New Goonies: "ahhhhhhhh!"

"No really, Do you guys have any Baby Ruths? I'm starving and haven't eaten in years."

Agreed, Goonies still rules. Goonies 2 will be feces.

2003-11-12 12:50:37 PM
Yeah, drhomer, who wants to see another Speilberg-ized movie? I can just see the Goonies being held captive by a ship full of pirates with walkie-talkies.

Let it die! Let It DIE!

I was just in Cannon Beach Oregon this past weekend, everytime I go there we end up talking about the Goonies. Such a great movie to see growing up...

2003-11-12 12:54:21 PM
Donner will continue developing the sequel after taking a few weeks to promote his latest movie, the sci-fi thriller "Timeline," starring Paul Walker as an archaeological student who travels back to 14th century France to rescue his professor.

I'd rather see Goonies 2 than this.

2003-11-12 12:56:15 PM
I'd hit it.

2003-11-12 12:57:02 PM
Great. Another movie for Tom Cruise to ruin.

Rocky Rooaad?

"He is a lawyer now, you know," Donner said of Cohen. "He graduated UC Berkeley Law School top of his class and he's now a practicing lawyer here in [Hollywood] and phenomenal. Damn right we'll see him. I'm very proud of every one of those kids. They all turned out great."

Yeah, that Feldman kid really went far...

By the way, the cast commentary on the Goonies DVD is more entertaining than the film itself, and I have a definite soft spot in my heart for that film. I took a girl from high school to see it during the summer between our freshman and sophomore years. We rode our bikes to the theater. Good times...good times...

Yeah, I'm a geek.

2003-11-12 12:59:46 PM
Because it's their time. Their time! Up there! Down here, it's our time. It's our time down here. That's all over the second we ride up Troy's bucket.

2003-11-12 12:59:48 PM
Man, I'd love for this to be great, but I would imagine it would suck teh donkey balls.

2003-11-12 01:00:21 PM
wakamole

call me a gozer worshipping homo, but thats pretty cute. Now 18 kids get out of moms SUV and hang out in front of the theater playing games on their phones...

Leave it alone, leave it alone!!!!!!

Hollywood has run out ideas. So for their next cash cow, they'll just destroy one more nostaligic piece of my childhood.

2003-11-12 01:00:28 PM
It better not be a damn prequel

2003-11-12 01:00:35 PM
There's a ton of bad sequels out there these days... might as well throw this one on the pile. I loved the original, though.

2003-11-12 01:00:43 PM
I loved Goonies. Even bought the game.

2003-11-12 01:01:31 PM
I need to pick up the Goonies on DVD. I'll go pick that up along with the Dork edition of Lord of the Rings, Two Towers.

I had to go buy Big Trouble in Little China last week instead of the Goonies.

Too many good movies, too little money.

wakamote Geeks unite!

DVD version of the goonies is great with the cast commentary.

Are we going to be able to get this guy off of Frodo long enough to participate?

Good movie, no need for a sequel
