Had a very similar experience. I had an MRI done to diagnose a shoulder injury, and at the very edge of the image they notices a "couple of white spots, probably nothing to worry about. Still, we should check it out".

Turned out to be a very virulent form of lymphoma that is commonly fatal if not caught early.

All during the treatment, I kept getting asked "How in the hell did anyone ever catch this?"

I beat throat cancer also.

I bet it was HPV related.

80% of the tumors biopsied from head and neck cancers in males have been found to have HPV.
my doctor described it as "an epidemic". fortunately cancers originating from HPV have a 50% greater success then head and neck cancers where the cause was generally alcohol and smoking related.

the HPV is caused from oral sex, usually in males that are in hetero relationships.

/shine that diamond and beware!
//seriously get your kids, girls and boys immunized.

How the heck does American football have a scrum? Doesn't a scrum require more than three seconds to pass before a whistle and might involve some back-and-forth over the ball?

Ummmm...there are no scrums in football. Mauls? Maybe. Scrums? Never. Learn your lingo sportscasters/writers.
