Bit of a stretch for the tie in there.
Was that woman really worth fighting over?

Yeager shots, maybe.
Or penicillin shots.

Damn, and here I was hoping that detestable little twat, Matt Smith, had gotten himself snuffed so they'd have to get a decent actor to play the doctor for the eventual next season.

So, guy A wants the girls, so he hires hitman to whack guy B.
Guy B wants the girl so he goes and kills guy A.

My mother was right. If you want something done right you've got to do it yourself.

FTFA: Mr Suller ... met Ms Gilmore in a brothel in 2010. ... Ms Gilmore and Bowyer had met during a drug rehabilitation programme.

So... yeah... she sounds like somebody you'd kill to keep.

Mr Suller, whose roles included small parts in Doctor Who....1

Really? This justifies a listing under the Entertainment tag? Geek tag...maybe, but even that's a stretch.

From the first headshot, I thought it was Pete Tyler.

Then it was clear it's some extra from episode X.

Neither. The guy appeared in like two episodes and he doesn't even have an IMDB page. Sensationalist headline is sensationalist.

At least Daily Fail refers to him as "actor." While "extra" might be more accurate, they aren't pretending he was one of the stars of the show.

What the hell are Yaeger shots and do they somehow involve breaking the sound barrier while drunk?

... because that would be even cooler than drinking involving umlauts.

They're Welsh...you need, at a minimum, half a pint of phlegm in your throat to pronounce them.

There's pretty and then there's British pretty. The exchange rate is about one or their incredibly hot women to one of our just slightly-above-average women. In other words you could take your sis to Blighty and trade her in for a supermodel.

That's more RTD than Moffat.

Though to be fair, Moffat did write Empty Child/Doctor Dances that introduced Jack Harkness, One way or another though, the complaints about RTD and Moffat gaying up Doctor Who are kind of ridiculous because all they're doing is reflecting the reality that not everyone is hetero. It's always been a bit absurd that the Star Trek universe doesn't do that since it's supposed to be a utopian future where earth has gotten over its prejudice and all that.

To be fair, that's more in line with the fact that Star Trek was on American TV in the early to late 90s (the series that would have the balls to show stuff like that, TOS barely got away with an interracial hetero kiss). In fact, if I'm not mistaken, it was originally planned that Geordi Laforge would be gay, but it was axed by Paramount.

As well, in relation to the interracial kiss between Uhura and Kirk, the first same sex kiss in star trek between Jadzia Dax and Lenara Kahn got Paramount MANY complaints. One famously having a production assistant fielding the call where the caller complained about his kids seeing it, the PA asked if the man would've been fine with the kids seeing a woman shoot the other. When the man said he would the PA said "You should reconsider who's messing up your kids"

It got to the point where in some parts of the country the kiss was edited out of the episode all together before broadcast. And this wasn't some sleezy erotic kiss, it was a kiss between two people who were in love with each other.

So it would seem that the reason that there isn't any homo-love in Trek isn't so much about the fictional Utopia, and more about the real lack of Utopia. Kinda sad, really.

But even the J.J. Abrams Trek, which isn't from the '90s, has a universe where everyone is presumed to be straight. And, as far as Next Generation goes, if they had any spine then in the episode with the androgynous planet they would have gotten a male actor to play Riker's love interest like Frakes wanted.

TOS was cutting edge and pushed the envelope, it helped move society forward with regards to race. By the time the '90s rolled around they chickened out when they could have actually been following in the footsteps of TOS. Now, once they finally get around to adding an actual recurring queer character it's going to be playing catch up even to Archie comics.

(though you may be right about having the love interest be a male opposite whomever replaced Frakes.)
