(Daily Mail)   Man sues rock band Placebo because they used his image on their album cover in 1996 which caused him to be bullied and ruin his life. Talk about a bitter pill to swallow   (dailymail.co.uk) divider line 77

Sounds like this guy could use a friend with breasts and all the rest, a friend who's dressed in leather.

I was going to go with a friend in need is a friend indeed, but a friend with weed is better, but your comment is better. Is better.

Or, just maybe, and hear me out here...the shiat in your ear and awesome neck tattoo are conspiring to make you look like a douche and thus not worth hiring.

this

and did he just think to sue the band 16 years after the release of the album?

/placebo is an awesome band

I don't get kids these days, or hell those days, but I would think that being on the cover of an album, on billboards, and on TV would be one hell of a thing and not to be made fun of.

On the other hand, it seems like if he were going to sue, it should have been years ago.

Let me guess: he's just another nancy boy?

This. He had it made, but failed to own it.

Instead he let kids that weren't on album covers turn it around on him, and went along with it.

/Losing at life is nearly always self-inflicted. Dude, who else at your school got on an album cover???? You take that to the street cred *bank*.

What is he thinking, that the band broke into his cousin's house/office and stole the photo?

If anyone, he should be going after his cousin (assuming his parents hadn't signed a blanket release allowing the cousin to use any shots of the kid for any reason) and whatever label exec didn't think to check if there was a release in place.

I hope the judge just laughs at him.

Looks like this lawsuit is going nowhere. Maybe he should try therapy?

good point, it would be between model and artist. and he would have had to sign a release, and had adult representation. the band should send him a free copy of the DVD as a 'thank you' and that's that.

It was actually supposed to be me on that album cover, they even had me in to practice posing for the shoot, but it all broke down at the first rehearsal.

2012-06-26 01:15:01 AM
Yeah, the court is going to wonder why he waited so long to file a lawsuit. He's 28, so he's been an adult for a decade. He could have sued years ago, but didn't.

Being on a Placebo cover 16 years ago would have gotten me so laid. Especially by those thin, tattooed girls with short, sticky black hair and leather jackets that I fancied so much at the time.

Loser boy here couldn't make the most out of his good fortune, fark him!

/Who am I kidding, I still like thin, tattooed girls with short black hair...

"In the end the bullying got so bad that Mr Fox's mother had to drive him home from school every day so he could avoid the pupils waiting for him at the gates."

This I don't get, if the bullies were known to wait in certain places, why not deal with them then?
What comes around, goes around.
I'm not familiar with this band, but somehow I doubt they got a ton of cash by this time.

I'm kidding. The guy in the article said being on an album cover ruined his life so I pretended these kid's lives were ruined. Well, that explanation killed it.

When searching for gainful employment, you can't go wrong with a neck tattoo.

Face tattoos are even better.

He's a chef. Neck tattoos generally aren't a restriction from employment when working in the back of the house.

Of course, if he wanted a job outside the restaurant business, he's screwed.

Well said. He self identified as a loser when others tested him, as they would have regardless. Any amount of fame usually causes others to have a rush of feeling, either that of humility, or of a desire to ensure that they are also at or neat the top of the social circle.
