FirstNationalBastard: So, according to this author, women are now completely useless?

no, just female romance novel
she probably hasnt heard of the internet or porn either
or the fact that women are getting divorced and getting laid
or old people in nursing homes are getting laid

and the waiting room of a doctor's office is not a robust sample
HELLO, the women who are there WANT their libidos BACK

2012-06-25 12:50:09 AM
I'd hit it....a go a GILFin'.

FTFA "Doctors' waiting rooms are absolutely brimming these days with women suffering from low libidos. Ours is now a terribly under-sexed society. I have talked to a lot of young women about this and they just don't seem to do it any more. Honestly. I suppose it's because we all have so many other demands on our time now."

She's clearly not happy with this trend. And just because internet porn is so widely available doesn't mean people are having more sex overall.

With men?

I could actually smell myself getting dumber as I waded through that link. Now I have stupidsauce all over my floor. Someone has to clean it up, subby.

I'd say they are just declining what is offered.

The author's mom begs to differ.

Woman says sex isn't marketable in literature recently. Uses a porn book that hit the NY Times bestseller list within the last year in her argument.

Stupid, or just really good at self-deception?

//Don't really see a need to analyze her rationalization for why porn books aren't selling well when, very clearly, they ARE selling well.

2012-06-25 04:35:31 AM
well...

2012-06-25 04:38:35 AM
I think she means that -her- style of sexy sex book is no longer in vogue, therefore women must not want sex.

And how would you know? Please reply with anatomical specificity.

" "Porn was terribly out of fashion before that book came out," Cooper says. "While I have heard that it is quite poorly written, I am delighted that it's giving a new lease of life to the genre.""

I keep hearing the same thing that this book is not written very well but it's popular with women. I almost want to read it to see what's up, but then decide against. If women don't want sex, is it the adventure of it or just a change?

What am I going to do with all these copies of Fifty Shades of Gray?

Maybe women today are more educated and don't read trashy books so much.

She's 100% correct.

Women no longer want 'sexual intercourse', they want a Man to give them 'damn hard seeing to', cos all this 'sexual intercourse' pussification of the male of the species has gone on long enough, and the novelty of letting her dyke mate with the strap-on 'take care of business' has worn off.

/has predicted this for a while.

I keep hearing that the acting in Debbie Does Dallas isn't very good, but men really like it. Maybe I should rent it and see what its about.

I haven't read it and after the stories of all the soccer moms reading it I have no interest. The author is making a crap load of cash so there's that.

I picked up a copy in a bookstore and opened it to various random spots and yep, complete tripe.

I guess if you were a woman who thinks sex is only the missionary position it'd be racy and naughty though. Perhaps the sort who this author is referring to.

Rufus Lee King: Look, just my opinion here, but this is why the "gay" explosion has happened. Guys don't want to deal with you women any more. Could be wrong.

Men would turn to porn or prostitutes in droves before turning gay. I don't think there's a guy out there who's thinking "I'm so tired of dealing with women and their bullshiat, I wonder if there's a dick around here I could suck..."

Don't bother, it's a total tease. If you want to see what 21st century men really like just google the following terms:***, *******, ****, *************, ****, and "Two Girls One Cup".

Debbie Does Dallas wasn't filmed for the acting so I don't know what you're getting at. 50 Shades was written for the sex but I heard it wasn't written well. But if some women like the supposedly crude portrayal of sex in books more power to them. It's less than I expected.

Considering how angry my SO gets when I'm too tired from working 80 hours I'd say this myth is busted. I think women have become hyper sexual evil home wreckers but that's just me.

Its porn for soccer moms, why would you turn to it for prose, well developed characters, or good writing? I don't understand why a review of a porn book has to be prefaced with, 'its not well written.' I don't think ladies are reading it for the authorship anymore than men watch "Big Busty Betty 3" for the cinematography.

That's not how sexual orientation works.

Actually, in a way it sort of is. At least in plants, frogs and some other small marine vertebrates. In theory, perhaps humans also. If there is a lack of available viable members of a particular gender in a population, then some individuals may spontaneously start playing for the other team.

Actually, that may not be the best example, as that particular movie's mostly famous for being a fairly decent movie. Has a plot, has decent dialogue and character motivation, and is well shot and edited. Even ignoring the porn aspect, beats the hell out of anything Michael Bay has ever done, for instance.

If you have any interest in '70s movies at all it should be on your list, along with a number of other exploitation flicks.

She's right. Intercourse is boring. Toe curdling, sheet ripping, sleep afterwards for 4 hours orgasms are worth searching for. Once you've had it, your mate better be able to keep up, or said mate will soon be known as "the ex."

The book, and I am not making this up, started out as Twilight fan-fiction. She took out the vampires and copyrighted characters, and re-released it as plain ol' porn.

2012-06-25 05:46:06 AM
shiatty author makes bogus claim to sell more books. Maybe her target audience average age is dead and the younger ladies can't relate to out-of-date tales of men on horses whisking them away.

Or, you know, the Internet has given them all sorts of options for porn (visual as well as written) and trashy paperbacks are no longer needed. Analog romance novels are going the way of porn on DVD.

Of course. Women want to intercourse about art, their feelings, shopping, their cat, and, occasionally, politics.

But no sexual intercourse. Just skip the talking and get right to it.

I'm not exactly sure where this thread is going, but the idea that women are no longer having intercourse, sex or however you want to define it, does not sound encouraging at all. Can my generation ever get a break, when I was in high school, everyone was paranoid about AIDS and STDs, now women are just locking us out? Well that sucks.

Steady on chief. TFA mentioned nothing about a decline in getting-in-the-kitchen-and-making-me-a-sandwich skills.

If they don't want to have sex anymore why would they bother to go to the doctor and have a low libido fixed? Wouldn't they would leave it as is and be happy in their misery?

Well, if you're lucky, they'll be locking you in - Chastity / tease & denial is apparently the new craze.
