Protective custody. Same thing as the hole, except instead of being bad to get there, you have to be hated. Known gang members and high profile inmates are often kept in solitary confinement so they don't get shanked in the general population.

And it's time once again for people who claim to be human to abandon their humanity for their version of "justice." Justice does not involve death, and it never has. Even God said so. Funny that Christians forget that.

that said, prison can be a very brutal place. this was a high profile case, and Sandusky disgraced a popular (almost cult like) football program. He's in a very bad place right now and unless he's protected from his fellow inmates it is likely he won't survive to serve out his sentence.

Heh, like it matters what a bunch of cons think of another con. I bet if Sandusky could help any of them break out of jail, they wouldn't hate him as much.

it's difficult to explain to non-central Pa people just how pervasive and fanatical PSU football is in these parts. Right or wrong, Sandusky seems to be getting all the blame for tarnishing the good name of Penn State football....that's kind of not a good place to be right now.

Of course the faithful are looking for a Judas. Who could be more of a blame target than a rapist of children?

A lot of prisons have a set intake process where the new inmate is kept for awhile before either being put into gp or pc. Hel'll likely end up in pc.

1) He's high profile, so if something happens to him, that's bad for the prison.

2) As much as most of us dislike the idea, he does have a right to appeal his conviction,.

Well everyone has a right to appeal their conviction so that's not a factor. So get famous before I get convicted of any crime that would make me an especially appealing target. Got it.

After what happened in Luzerne county i'm pretty sure that the Pa prison system could just outright murder inmates and cut up their organs for sale to the highest bidder and nobody in this state would care....

From my extensive knowledge from reality-television shows about prison, it seems like anyone can request PC and most Chester Molesters are granted it, famous or not.

If you can't trust television, what can you trust?

How do the central PA faithful reconcile the fact that Joe knew for 15 years and did nothing, that multiple reports to police and admin went nowhere, and in a small town where literally dozens of people had to have heard rumors, everything was business as usual for years? How do they reconcile Joe letting Sandusky stay with campus privileges even after being forced to resign in 2002?

Get famous enough, and you won't have to go to jail for a bunch of stuff in the first place!

Any institution that is so wrapped up in f*cking football deserves to crumble. Overlooking blatant abuse for the sake of a sport and the money it brings in? Fhhhhuk u and the bullsh*t ruse you hide behind. Goddamn college sports aren't real life and if some of those kids weren't good athletes they wouldn't have a scholarship. Monkey sports ability =/=intelligence.

I'd like to see the Athletic Director, NCAA Compliance Official, and the President of Penn State brought up on charges of conspiracy to commit child rape.

it is cute how they are only blaming the main person involved and defending all the people who covered it up. oh yes and attacking anyone who reported the crime. LOL

yup
classic cult behavior

Which was Joe again, the befuddled and stupid out of touch enabler, or the top of all authority in Penn State football who would have been able to squash any potential investigation? Too bad we'll never have him under oath to see.

Know what I would like to know? Whether the Big Ten gets its money back from Penn State's false image. The Big Ten let Penn State join 18 years ago under the assumption it was this clean program run by ethical and moral leaders. Since we now know that is about the furthest from the truth, I just wondered whether the Big Ten wants a do over. Penn State also should have to answer to the NCAA, that whole "lack on institutional control" question. Of course the NCAA only cares about this stuff if you buy recruits dinner or get them jobs, that kind of thing. Enabling a serial pedo rapist is probably way off their radar.

Whats so weird about this whole thing; the famous cheating schools, the Texas A and M, the Alabama, the SMU.. they did some ridiculous things in order to win.

Penn State is the reverse. It did some reprehensible things not to win, but to keep a coach who could easily have been replaced and prosecuted in 2002 and the program cleaned up, and probably not take any long term damage at all.

Instead, they all ignored the problem that was right in their face, to protect and enable a rapist and in all likelihood help him keep committing his crimes.

That got them nothing gained on the football field.

Which is why most schools cheat.

Just is weird. And culty. Outside investigators need to rip Pedo State a new one as far as I'm concerned, many people had to know and many people had to have actively covered this stuff up.
