Well, as long as we're making up bullshiat theories, I think the dad was a retired Delta Force operative named Colonel John Matrix and was recently informed by his former superior Major General Franklin Kirby that all the other members of his unit had been killed by unknown mercenaries. Despite being given protection, the mercenaries attack Matrix's secluded mountain home,

The article picks it up from there.

Perhaps because they know that their kids would have been posting about it on FB instead of reacting properly.

I live in a decent middle class neighborhood that is situated only about a mile from the start of a ghetto area and I keep a tactical shotgun in my bedroom for when the next brown person makes the mistake of kicking my door down while I'm home. A few months ago the house next to mine was broken into in the middle of the day and nobody saw anything, including me who happened to be home at the time. I even see these ghetto kids riding around on bicycles in white-only areas scouting to see when people leave for work/school.

MaudlinMutantMollusk: The only sad part is "nearly killed"

I disagree. The really sad part is that the intruder would bring along his 3 younger siblings. And that nobody told the poor kid with the gun that the phoenix is a mythical bird, so it was sort of a waste of time to build it a bird-home.

Tragic, all around.

metlboy: The Southern Dandy: NotARocketScientist: I'd like to see someone explain to me how "gun control" laws would've helped these kids...

How about the fact that they might have kept the gun out of the hands of the intruder while allowing guns to be kept in the home...

This logic is just patently stupid. Let's take this logic into the drug control arena.
How many law abiding families keep illicit drugs in their home? A: Zero
How many criminal drug user carry illicit drugs? A: most.

You see? Making something illegal doesn't mean shiat to criminals. All it does is remove it from law abiding citizens. So your flawed logic that making guns illegal would mean that law abiding citizens don't need guns because criminals wouldn't have them is just stupid.

Did they make reading comprehension illegal in your state? As the previous poster stated, it would make guns more difficult for known criminals to get (via background checks), while not keeping them out of the hands of law abiding citizens. It would also add a few charges when criminals get caught, keeping them locked up longer. As for your drug analogy, you know that some terminally ill people can still get morphine right? Think of it that way.

Yeah, because criminals go and buy their guns from the local Sportsmen's Warehouse.

F*cktard.

It's closer to reality that you think. If you don't belong in my neighborhood, your license plate gets a picture taken and forwarded to to cops on the non emergency number.

The DWB (or DWH, which ever is applies) stop is then quietly executed. Picked up more than a few warrants that way.

And who decides whether or not I might belong in your neighborhood? Do I need a uniform, pointy hat, etc?

Aww..crap...can I get a hand getting this hook out of my jaw?

Really? 14? Have you ever known a 14 year old? A freshman in high school can't watch their siblings in the middle of the day in your world? I would be utterly ashamed if my kids couldnt be responsible enough to babysit at 14.
