Basically, some programmer did the needful back in the early days of Youtube and they never fixed it. 301 is an arbitrary number after which they use their analytical tools to ensure the number is correct.

I'm sorry but that misses the most important and intriguing bit-- the inside scoop on the coder's decision to use "less than or equals to" in his statement.

I really hate it when people use videos to explain what could be written in a single. f*cking. paragraph.

...Where was the story? The page had no content. I allowed their scripts one at a time and still no story. Well, one more site to add to the ignore list...

VEVO did an article about this a couple of months ago. So whoever this guy is basically just stole their article and made a YouTube video about it.

Oh, and apparently they just got it from YouTube itself. Link

I can't believe that he had to spend about 40 seconds to explain the difference between "less than" and "less than or equal to". Sadly, seeing the state of American math education, that was probably necessary.

Interesting, yes. But it could have been edited into a video half as long.

Make it snappy, people.
I don't feel bad about wasting 2-4 minutes on you, but anything over 8 must be pretty freaking awesome, or I'm going to get mad.

Anyway, hadn't noticed the 301 thing before, as I just started pushing my new videos and have small view counts, but I'll be keeping my eye on the #s.

Not if you watched the video, but just play it in the background. The video is not essential to understanding the dialogue. Well worth my time to click play and listen while browsing Fark.

I would like to thank the people who linked to the text explanation instead of this video that didn't play for me.

Flickr recently had a glitch where stats counters were failing to exclude bots. Users thought it was a big deal.

Great! Now explain why the commercials play instantly but the rest of the videos buffer worse than RealPlayer circa 1997.
