Let's go Vettel and Red Bull!

2012-06-24 08:02:45 AM
i've never understood how Valencia can have such an ugly track in such a beautiful place. With all of that scenery around the harbour, they seem to have tried as hard as they could to make it look like they're racing in an industrial car park.

Actually a fair amount of place moving for a track that doesn't allow passing so far...

For those of who are getting farked and their absurd tape-delayed airing, here's a whole bunch of streaming options.

Thanks. I'll keep a tab open in case the stream I'm using goes pear-shaped, and bookmark it for future reference.

/Massa just can't get past DiResta's Force India....

2012-06-24 08:22:23 AM
And Grosjean takes P2 from Hamilton!

2012-06-24 08:22:26 AM
Wow did Hamilton get Grosmacked there!

2012-06-24 08:27:55 AM
At least McLaren got through a pit stop properly.

2012-06-24 08:28:01 AM
Kimi moves up as well - loving this "no-passing" track so far.

2012-06-24 08:33:56 AM
Seb pits from P1, leaves in P1 b/c GRO pits as well.

2012-06-24 08:39:10 AM
Senna collided, still rolling. Might make it back to the pit.

2012-06-24 08:42:03 AM
....Back in the race at P23 after his collision with Kobayashi.

2012-06-24 08:46:34 AM
And Senna(!) gets a drive-through for his collision with Kobayashi.

2012-06-24 08:53:58 AM
Safety Car is out due to the VER-KOV collision.

2012-06-24 08:54:53 AM
When Red Bull wins the constructors championship, they need to ask a McLaren mechanic to accept it on their behalf.

2012-06-24 08:55:14 AM
McLaren HAD to have a blown pit stop today.

2012-06-24 08:58:57 AM
Vergne is out. He'll probably get a grid penalty in Silverstone for that crash.

Vettel got his pit stop in, and has switched to primes after two stints on options. Hamilton had a terrible stop and dropped to P6

2012-06-24 09:05:41 AM
Safety Car in this lap....

2012-06-24 09:06:49 AM
Alonso takes P2

2012-06-24 09:07:42 AM
GAH! Vettel out. :-(

2012-06-24 09:09:17 AM
What the hell happened to Seb's car?

2012-06-24 09:09:57 AM

King Something: What the hell happened to Seb's car?

Seems like engine trouble - lost power

2012-06-24 09:10:27 AM
I had almost fallen asleep. Holy crap, it's a real race now.

2012-06-24 09:10:57 AM
They haven't said yet.

2012-06-24 09:13:38 AM
Hamilton might get a drive-trough for ignoring yellow flags....

2012-06-24 09:13:56 AM
And now Webber is falling back - Bad day for Red Bull. :-(

2012-06-24 09:19:16 AM
Now Gros is out too

2012-06-24 09:19:26 AM
This is like the Indy Race last night.

2012-06-24 09:20:14 AM
And now Grosjean is out. Alternator.

2012-06-24 09:20:33 AM
And Grosjean's season of podium-or-bust continues.

What the hell is killing people's cars?

2012-06-24 09:25:40 AM
Kimi for the win!

2012-06-24 09:31:53 AM
I KNEW we'd gone too long without hearing Petrov's name. The Rudderless Russian strikes again!

2012-06-24 09:44:52 AM
Kimi passes Lewis

2012-06-24 09:45:39 AM
Hamilton, let it go man. Yeah. That's what I thought.

2012-06-24 09:45:48 AM
Godammitsomuch Maldonado!

2012-06-24 09:45:48 AM
Hamilton out, sweeeeet.

2012-06-24 09:46:03 AM
The Pastor condemns Hamilton to DNF hell.

2012-06-24 09:47:08 AM
Lewis is out. Maldonado's wing is gone, Schumi is up to P3

2012-06-24 09:49:41 AM
GJ Fernando!

2012-06-24 09:49:52 AM
And of course any grid penalty Pastor gets for that will be a pittance compared to the screwjob McLaren got at the other Spanish track.

Probably the guy in the Marussia who finished in front of Massa.

And finally, Valencia produces an exciting race. Hopefully this won't give Bernie ideas that it needs to stick around.

Silverstone is July 8, 8AM for people on the US east coast. It's on FOX, too, so unless they get their heads out of their asses be prepared to stream this one as well.

5 Mercedes 92

Drivers or teams tied in points (including zero points) are ranked based on the quality of their finishes -- one first place finish is better than any number of second place finishes, one second place finish is better than any number of third place finishes, and so on.

/today's results are pending vehicle inspections, and in Maldonado's case a review of his collision with Hamilton
//looks to me like Hamilton will get penalized for that crash because he drove Maldonado off the track
///Alonso said he stopped on the victory lap because of a problem with the car. If the problem is because he ran out of fuel, the FIA will be less than pleased; if it's because he ran out of fuel and he winds up not meeting the minimum weight requirement, he'll get disqualified and Raikkonen will be the winner (and the eight winner in eight races)

Looks like I missed an interesting Thunderdome race. Stupid tape delay.

Great 125 race right now. 16 year old leading and announcers screaming at him for his mistakes

That kid Mazzola will be a multi time World Champion if he gets a mentor to fix his lines some. Hundreds of riders have better lines than him but not 1 in 5000 racers have his drive and ability to go fast when out of position and off line. Somebody needs to snap that kid up on a multi year factory sponsorship now. He has no equal in potential right now.
