A biatch who wants to kill everyone's boner from growing up with Harry Potter.

She has an awful haircut and is cruel to animals. Only douchebags will love her now.

Normally, I'd have some outrage about a celebrity wasting money on something so stupid.

But because it's her, I want to believe that she has a more sinister purpose. Good, bad or otherwise, I want to believe that there's a greater motive in the long run.

Now I'm concerned that this is the same logic dumb people use to continue following every bowel movement passed by the Kardashian Attention Whores.

What makes you think all pets are kept in "cruel captivity"?

Genuinely curious how you came to this conclusion. And how you justify comparing dogs/cats/fish/reptiles to human slaves.

Weird TV personality's objections addressed one at a time:

But TV vet Emma Milne said: 'Dogs are not playthings; they are not dolls. If you are putting a chemical on a dog's fur, you could cause that dog problems.

A pet dog is in fact a plaything, especially this breed which is farking useless for any other purpose whatsoever. It literally wouldn't exist if we didn't want small animals to play with. If we released every member of the breed to the wild, the subspecies would be extinct in a week.

'Even if the dye is completely safe - and the dye that Emma Watson has used should be absolutely fine - you are still altering the way the dog looks and smells to other animals. Potentially, it could have an effect on the way that dog interacts with other dogs.

Dogs don't typically rely on vision when evaluating other dogs, and hair itself is dead and thus altering it will not alter the dog's scent-producing organs (skin, sweat, glands, etc) and will read as something the dog's hung around and/or rolled in, not anything other dogs would use to identify it. Who gave this idiot a veterinary license, again? Is her degree form the internet, perhaps?

Also, dogs of this stature frequently aren't ever around other dogs, so it hardly would matter even if you didn't fail biology forever and had a point. Again, this breed exists only to be a pet.

'A dog is still a living object that hasn't had any say on whether it wants to be pink.'

So? It's an animal, not a person. It has no right to self-determination. If what you're doing to the dog doesn't cause it to become a danger to other people or their property, you can quite literally do anything you want to the creature without violating any laws, morals, or mores of human existence.

Summary: Is this stupid? Yes. But it's stupid because it's pointless, not because it in any way constitutes animal abuse. The dog doesn't care, it amuses the owner, and there are no negative side effects other than us thinking slightly less of Ms. Watson. Who farking cares?

Sounds like him and a few others in the thread already are those people that think animals are better than people. They like to post pictures of mutilated or injured animals, some of which are shooped, on their facebook page to generate rage amongst like minded wackos. Then they sit there in a great big circle jerk talking about how much they'd like to mutilate or harm whoever did that to the poor creature as if wanting to commit and wishing violence towards people is any better than violence towards animals.

In short, they're hypocritical tards.

If the girl wants to dye her dog then let her. She's not hurting the dog. She took it to a licensed groomer who used appropriate dyes for dogs. At least she's looking after the dog.

Heck if Bailey wasn't mostly black I'd consider dying her for giggles. She's the type of dog who loves being dressed up. When I bring out one of her shirts she starts dancing. So yes she does like it. When she gets her shirt on she starts prancing around all proud. My other dog, Zoey, is the complete opposite. She hates wearing anything so I don't make her wear any clothes. When I tried the first time she pretty much ripped the shirt off. So now I don't bother. It's just a waste of money as far as I'm concerned. If she liked it I'd continue.

It's the old saying different strokes for different folks. If the dog enjoys it then why not. As long as you're not hurting & they enjoy it I say go for it.

Rabbitgod: I'm going to point out that dogs are color blind, and so this, or any other dog does not give a shat.

Color-blind does not mean that you see no colors at all. Dogs see colors, they just don't see the same colors we do.

Even if they did see in just shades or gray or some shiat, dye would still be visible (pink dye probably not terribly so, but still).

The only cat I've ever had that didn't choose us (and that hasn't been a roaming tomcat that just crashed with us at night) is deaf and likely wouldn't have survived long on his own. This was in rural Appalachia where leash laws don't exist except in some towns and there's literally no one to enforce them even when they do exist, so dogs are all over the place.

We do take him outside on a leash sometimes so he can still enjoy grass, but the one time he got out without us noticing and chasing him immediately, we found him hours later on the rail of our porch, scared and hiding from dogs. So.

/our dogs are all indoor/outdoor with no fences or chains
//happily come back to us every time

Violence and neglect of humans is worse, but I don't know how anyone can avoid getting violently angry that people beat animals who depend completely on them and love people unconditionally if they're just given a chance.

We took in a coonhound that was technically raised as a pet, not hunting dog. She was kept inside a lot by our neighbors, until she got out during cleanup after a flood. They'd left her in their house, which had several feet of flood water, just trying to stay on the couch to avoid the water, while they left. She was so starved when she wandered into our yard that you could see every bone in her body. Similarly emaciated dogs on Animal Cops shows die as often as they live, even with Greg veterinary care. We got her food and water, but she was so exhausted we were a bit afraid of her at first, because she wasn't responding enough for us to know if she was friendly. She could barely wag her tail.

First time he caught our door open after getting a bit of energy back, she slipped in and ran straight for our couch and plopped down. Wouldn't budge. Neighbors let us have her, and we've spoiled her, but she's still scarred by what happened. Got in a big argument with my mother once and knocked over a 2 liter of pop. The dog ran for her life and I found her in the living room, shaking violently, and she was nervous toward me even though I've never been mean to her in my life. Cried my eyes out (diffused the fight pretty quickly!).

I would like to mutilate or harm whoever did that to her, the same way I'd like to mutilate or harm anyone who abuses dependent creatures. Humans (children, the disabled, etc) make me even more stabby, but I don't have a limit to how many people can disgust me.

I have 4 cats. They all hate me save one. They all plot my death and demise. They keep me strong by keeping me on my toes.

I keep them strong with real meat and live rodents to keep their hunting skills sharp. Why? Because one day, maybe soon, they will succeed and end me. They will earn their freedom. They will be strong enough to brave the outside world, and thrive.

The one that doesn't hate me is the most dangerous. He will be the real sadist of the four when he decides to strike.

www.meh.ro

Sigh... sentience is not a switch that's on or off. Cats are more sentient than beetles. People are more sentient than cats. Anyway... we bred companion animals to be friendly and somewhat dependent on us, so it's our species' duty to carry out our part of that arrangement. In most people's case that means caring for a pet that would otherwise be euthanized or left to run feral with 47 diseases.
