I think that depends on the state.

For every dollar spent on food stamps, $1.73 is generated throughout the economy.

Please ask me for a citation.

Well, the farm bill is written in such a way to support large corporate farms and undermine small family farms, so he is technically correct.

1 in 7 people in the United States receives food stamps. That's over 40 million people.

The CBO projects that 15 years from now we'll still have more people on food stamps and will be spending more per person than we did just five years ago. So much for a 'recovery'.

What in the hell are you talking about? Please show me where he mentions ANYTHING about black people. He says urban people. Urban. The fact that you equate this as racism, ironically makes YOU the racist.

I'm sure the instant we eliminate this assistance for the urban, our national debt will be eliminated and the economy will bounce back!

Everything's always about protecting "The Party" with you, isn't it, Gat_00? Get over yourself, this has nothing to do with the president and everything to do with changing demographics. It was actually a bit tongue in cheek, since pregnancy rates and births are down too.

I think people are having less babby, but on the flipside less people can afford anything, so the babby that are born are more likely than ever to be food stamp babby.

Here's the crux of the issue: Why is it in the year 2000, it cost $18 billion to provide food stamps to 17 million people ($1058 per person), when in the year 2015 it's estimated the cost will be 80 billion for 46 million people (1739 per person). Food prices most certainly did not increase by 60% in the past decade...

Actually, according to your chart- food prices will be projected at an approximate 60% increase by 2015. Granted, the chart is not detailed enough to see the exact %for each year, but I went with 3% which looks about right(eyeballing it). Cumulatively that is 58.5%

In Washington State, the red counties are the welfare queens, the blue counties where people have jobs that pay better are the true Job Creators.

Look at that. The blue counties pay more, and the red counties are the welfare queens.

So its actually the opposite of what the Republican claims.

Same goes for the individual states. The two biggest welfare hogs in the US are (1) corporations, and (2) red states.

When the fark in the history of the world has that ever worked on a large scale?

People are going to fark, and there's nothing to be done about it. Telling them not to is as effective as telling them to stop breathing, or to stop eating and drinking. It's a basic function of life, and people are hard pressed to control it. Especially when they are poor.

"Stop having kids" is not a realistic strategy.
