I like Subway and Wendy's, but don't care for donuts or coffee. I'm a freak.

2012-06-23 11:36:50 AM
I wouldn't say like, so much as if those are options, they'll be on the bottom of the list

2012-06-23 11:37:27 AM
Wendy's should never have changed their fries.

2012-06-23 11:38:23 AM
Damn dirty lib, and I like Subway and Wendy's. What's that make me?

2012-06-23 11:38:52 AM
Deep Blue New England runs on Dunkins subby, so not sure WTF ya tahkin about.

Maybe those prissy west coaster hipsters?

2012-06-23 11:39:45 AM
That seems odd. Dunkin Donuts are for the most party in very blue states and cities.

People joke that Starbucks are on every street corner, but if you go to the northeast, Especially southern New England, that's what Dunkin Donuts are like.

If all those companies disappeared off the face of the Earth tomorrow, I wouldn't care and probably wouldn't even notice.

How can the hippies afford Starbucks without jobs? That shiat's expensive!

2012-06-23 11:43:53 AM
Starbucks tastes like ass and Dunkin Donuts is delicious.

The English Major: Wendy's should never have changed their fries.

Their old fries sucked balls. The new ones are a major improvement.

The English Major: Wendy's should never have changed their fries.

BS, their old fries tasted like cardboard and the worst fast food fries out there. Now they are edible and much better then McD's fries.

Because "much better than McD's" doesn't actually imply "edible."

One of the Libbest Libs who ever libbed, and I think that Starbucks is naught but swill, Subway kicks ass. Most Wendy's can't make a decent burger, and, while their coffee sucks, Dunkin' has some damn fine donuts, so you can take that study and shove it up your ass...sideways.

2012-06-23 11:46:46 AM
I'm an In-N-Out fan who doesn't drink coffee and prefers cupcakes to doughnuts. Yes, I'm weird; the line to tell me that begins over there.

The English Major: Wendy's should never have changed their fries.

Really? The new ones are so much better. The old ones were always either underdone/ squishy or overdone and tasteless.

The ones who should not of changed their fries is Burger King. The new ones are just inedible.

GAT_00: Starbucks tastes like ass

Agreed.

I like my coffee... y'know, coffee-flavored?

/no milk
//no sugar

\it's SUPPOSED to look and taste like used motor oil -- why the hell do you think that that's what the Army uses?

It's avocado time at Subway. Subby can f*** off, right now.

2012-06-23 11:50:24 AM
I drink my coffee at work, and at home. Wendy's, I go there a couple nights a week, though I've been eating more chicken and less beef lately. Subway doesn't have a drive through, and I don't think they're open at 10:45 pm, when I head to work.

I guess it would be fitting for Republicans to enjoy the History Channel, since neither have a grasp on actual history.

It doesn't really matter much to marketeer types whether they are trying to sell you a sammich or a politician it's all the same principle.

I prefer Subway to Starbucks, but Quizno's is much better than Subway.

2012-06-23 11:55:26 AM
Both Wendy's and Subway are bad.

Go Chipotle's.

2012-06-23 11:55:42 AM
Jimmy John's or Cousin's for sammitches, Anodyne or Alterra for coffee. Dunkin' Donuts is fine. Hate Charbuck's.

And I'm discovering that I don't enjoy ff burgers anymore.

Counter_Intelligent: Go Chipotle's.

Chipotle = overrated. It's no better than any of the other and worse than Moe's.

King Something: I like my coffee... y'know, coffee-flavored?

Meh, I like my coffee with french vanilla and sugar, but the base matters. You can't taste anything over the base of Starbucks.

Qdoba. Their chicken is marinated in the blood of innocents and I want some now.

True blue MA calls shenanigans on this. Dunkin Donuts is practically a religion here. Don't really like their coffee, but I like their donuts. And I love Subway. Starbucks is OK.

I don't think I ever had a squishy or underdone old fry, but then again I rarely go or went to Wendy's. I guess it's just the notion of change.

BK's new fries are...odd.

2012-06-23 11:58:53 AM
I don't like any of those places on the list as a go to option but often dunkin is the only donut shop around

2012-06-23 11:58:55 AM
Dunkin' Donuts lays waste to all it surveys. Starbucks is good, but overpriced and far too twee and hipster.

Subway is utter garbage. One slice of meat on a wad of mushy bun. I'd rather roll the dice on a local sandwich shop I've never tried than give up and go to Subway.

Gevalia coffee at home, slow dripped to what I'm told is perfection.

Thundercloud subs, Subs.

The Republican Party uses a similar fear-based tactic, telling voters that four more years of President Obama would be a disaster for the country. Republicans may be attracted to Allstate because both the party and the product build off of a similar emotion, said Buyology CEO Gary Singer.

It is a similar story for fast food restaurants. Subway, where you choose every aspect of your sandwich, was the chain of choice for Republicans, a party whose platform revolves around individual freedom.

Democrats, on the other hand, favored Wendy's, which Singer said can be seen as more democratic because they offer pre-fixed solutions to your hunger. It's as if Wendy's is saying, "We've got these answers and you pick which is best for you," Singer said.

Well, at least their simplistic, insulting bullshiat explanations are nonpartisan.

Qdoba is better than Chipotle by a mile.

They put a Qdoba downstairs in my building. I think they're trying to kill me. I've imposed a once-a-month rule on myself.

pootsie: So... Where does HOMETOWN BUFFET stand in the political spectrum?

Obviously Democratic: they're trying to impose the Buffet Rule, whereby all Americans with income over $1 million are ineligible to receive free trips to the salad bar.

This.

Interesting juxtaposition that we have the "cigarette tax" thread right below this one. It's all the same as far as I'm concerned - people poisoning themselves for decades and then the rest of us stuck footing the bill when they get old and require millions of dollars in medical care that they really don't deserve.

Big Red distribution is largely limited to the South, so by definition would have to be favored mainly by conservatives.

There's a KFC/Timmy Ho's near Grand Central, and I've always been too wimpy to ask them to try and combine some of their doughnuts with the chicken, but I'm guessing it'll be delicious and make me a....modern whig?

2012-06-23 12:09:40 PM
There are no Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in Washington State, Oregon, or California, so obviously those liberals, in major strongholds and concentrations, won't rate DD highly.

Most people here have pointed out that New England states are full of Dunkin' Donutses, and they're overwhelmingly liberal. However, there are still tons of Republicans in New England--they're just not the racist, homophobic, misogynistic, xenophobic hyper-"Christian" monsters that you tend to find in the rest of the country. And they love their Dunkin' Donuts, too.

Aarontology: That seems odd. Dunkin Donuts are for the most party in very blue states and cities.

Yeah, but Republicans do nothing but biatch about how horrible and elitist and librul Starbucks is, and make a point of going to Dunkin Donuts instead. I think that in itself causes a skew.

/no Dunkin in my area
//not a fan of Starbucks -- their roasts are way too dark, they taste burnt
///usually go to a local shop called Farley's
