Satanic_Hamster: babysealclubber: The Black Keys are such assholes. How dare they make a loving on their music and refuse to starve and barely make ends meet like real artists.

Make a loving?

whizbangthedirtfarmer: I can't remember the name of the exact pedal, but on their first album, they used the fuzz distortion wonderfully and the guitar had great tone. Rubber Factory took a few steps away from that, and now they don't even use much distortion. Sorry to say, but I don't think Auerbach is a good enough guitarist without the distortion there to give him some "give."

When I used to play out back in the day I did the same thing. Sometimes my imagination was better than my actual playing skills and I would write songs that I couldn't actually play very tight so I would crank up the distortion just enough to hide my sloppy playing.

I didn't know they were an actual band, I thought they just wrote jingles for commercials.

Yeah... Welcome to the world of having a record contract. If the Black Keys would care to check the fine print, I think they'll find that their music doesn't actually belong to them, and that they were doing work-for-hire as far as their publisher is concerned. The publisher can sell their music, use it in ads, or let someone else cover it, and the Black Keys can go f♥ck themselves for all the lawyers care.

Enjoy your fame, motherf♥ckers!

I read "The Black Keys" as "The Black Eyed Peas" and kept thinking they've NEVER, EVER had ANY indie cred to begin with.

I guess that's why they were in court comparing how long their ponytails were a couple of days ago...

No band really wants cheese-stuffed cred.

"Gold on the Ceiling" is in the 2012 MLB "The Show" PS3 game.

I know, because MrBextraordinary has been playing it for two weeks straight and I am sick of the soundtrack.

/would normally join him when gaming
//but.. a baseball game? Nope.
