We could put magnets on the ends of drones and airdrop some iron-filing-laced Free Birdseed into the region.

As long as there are more than one member of Al-Qaida we'll have a number 2 to kill.

You'd think they'd wise up and change their name, or something.

Exactly the Democrats do nothing but use terrorism as a political tool. I heard very little about the Bush administration killing high ranking Al Qeada agents,

By this point; I imagine the selection process goes thusly:

Terrorist 1: who wants to be number 2 this week?

Terrorist 2: I was number 2 last week; let's make salim be number 2 this week.

Terrorist 1: no way, he owes me 2 camels. What about about the new guy? He didn't seem too bright.

Terrorist 2: it is agreed; I bet you a sheckel that the Americans blow him up before lunch.

Terrorist 1: you have a bet

Good to know that they got the No. 1 and are running out of No. 2s. Now they can get busy going after all those Al-qaeda Dick Cheeses.

By targeting individual members of Al-Qaeda? No. That doesn't create more terrorists.
Invading other countries and killing civilians does help to support any anti-American opposition, though.

Though in fairness, we could still work on our targeting. We tend to blow up a lot of bystanders, and their families are likely pissed.

Al Queada is actually more like a copyright-free brand than a corporation - anybody can set up a local franchise and they don't have to have any communication with "headquarters".

Killing al Queada #2s is sort of like knocking off the managers at McDonald's franchises.

I guess that they can start using it to enforce their will at home in the US. I guess now we should take that speed enforced by air, serious now

Just start going after the number 3 guy.

Once of the best "one-liners" from a Defense Secretary was by Donald Rumsfeld on Oct. 9, 2001...in regards to bombing Afghanistan...

Reporter: You say you're running out of targets though, Mr. Secretary, and going back to the fielded forces. What are you going to continue to hit?

Rumsfeld: Well, for one thing, we're finding that some of the targets we hit need to be re-hit. Second, we're not running out of targets, Afghanistan is.

I thought "It [the Iraq War] could last six days, six weeks, I doubt six months" was quippier and more classic.
