(Times Union)   2nd graders get sent to the corner for calling each other "fat", "low-life" or "liar", but what about the school board members? If you said, "call the cops", you get a gold star   (timesunion.com) divider line 17

InfamousBLT: What about "call the parents," like any rational human being would do?

Hello? Mrs. Vadney? Yes? Yes, oh, fine. Yes, the hollyhocks are doing just great. Thanks for asking. What's that? No, no, I don't know why the Laurence Welk show isn't on tonight.

Mrs. Vadney... no, Mrs. Vadney, I need to talk to you about your son, Mrs. Vadney. Apparently there's been some trouble down at the school with Johnny. Yes, Johnny. He's been getting into arguments with some of the other board members, and well, some feelings have been hurt. What's that? No, Mrs. Vadney, I can't help you with that. You'll have to ring a nurse. Mrs. Vadney, this matter concerning Johnny is very important, Mrs. Vadney.

/and so on

Trying to piece this together. In a conversation with an adult woman's father, the board president calls the daughter fat. Later in a phone call, they get into a heated argument and drop a few f-bomb and LGBT insults, but because one said, "I know where you live" the cops are called, the two guys arrested.

So you can't get into a shouting match on the telephone anymore? Was the daughter fat? Is the father a little-girl homo? If true, it ain't slander. Cooler head will prevail next week when both sides drop charges.

That's how the headline reads. Guess I should go rtfa to see how wrong I am so I can come back to curse subby's awkward ass headline.

Hold up. When did calling someone 'fat' become a crime? When did name-calling become illegal instead of ill-advised (but fun)?

/I'll be some asshole is responsible for it, too.

Yay, America! A name-calling argument on the phone is now a crime.

Farking perfect.

I'm sure we're breaking at least 3 laws right now by publicly making fun of these people.

It seems that some of the Farkers here didn't read the article, either that or they have poor reading comprehension.

Both of the men threatened the other, it wasn't just calling each other names

From TFA:

According to the documents, Vadney told Tracey, "We know where you live," and "You better watch out," causing police to charge him with harassment.

But court documents in Bethlehem allege Tracey said, "I'll (expletive) you up," and "I'm gonna come down there and kick your (expletive)."

I did read it, I just thought the idea of calling one of the guy's parents was funny. Sorry to ruin Fark for you today. :-)

Yesterday, old lady on bus harassed until she cries. Now this. To all the people yesterday asking where the kids learned this stuff, you have your answer.

Also, possible NY public school trifecta in play?

I was mainly pointing at the illiterate, panty twisted folks who just assumed that these guys were booked for calling each other names

Calling the parents over a kid saying minor things? Nice overreaction. Just send them to the corner like it says.
