I assume the picture in the article is a stock photo and not of the girl in question. So when I factor in the usual schlock reporting...who the hell knows what really happened. But it was written to get a knee jerk reaction...it did. It was not written to educate or inform. It didn't...therefore..success!!!

The My Little Pony Killer: Following the 2008 case, he said the school had issued a directive which outlined that there must be proper dress worn during events, including external ones that were linked to the school.

School has a precedent. It's okay for them to ask that students taking part in a school function, even off campus, to be dressed appropriately. She's still representing the school when she shows up.

Subby's reading comprehension is asinine.

...Except that miniskirt is about as slutty as your left elbow, so this still falls under the 'overreaction' category.

I can say, without fear of contradiction, that Banned on the Run has won this thread.

Brava, good sir, brava.

Not to ruin the thread, but it's in Singapore, not Malaysia (according to the domain).

I didn't read the article. But my first thought after reading the headline was "Yet another case of a school trying to find an excuse not to teach the kids".

It comes up over and over. They find excuses not to teach the kids. "We didn't like what you were wearing, even though you were not at school". "We don't like your haircut, you are expelled". "You brought a plastic knife with your lunch, you are suspended".

Do your job. Educate the kids. Finding excuses to kick the kids out of school does not help educate them.

I've enjoyed your posting in the past. But this one is oddly compelling. Any more like it. I've got an email if you don't want to post.
