The Baltimore Ravens and Ben Roethlisberger would like to welcome LeBron James to the pantheon of athletes who won championships shortly after leaving Ohio.

Now the question becomes how many rings does Lebron need to get before the haters give him a break?

So, here's what we learned today: Karma wise, screwing over the city of Seattle is worse than screwing over the city of Cleveland.

The haters will increase the more rings he gets.

The screwing overs are not proportionate. It's like taking Peyton Manning from Indianapolis hurts the Colt's chances of winning the Super Bowl but taking the Colts from Baltimore makes it impossible for Baltimore to get the Super Bowl

It honestly depends on what the end game is. I was talking about sportsguy's book rankings in the other thread. I think at this point, we can appreciate that he is the top player right now (though mocking him and the choking was fun as hell last year and early this year). I think he moves from number 20 to a debate with Petit, Dr. J, and Bryant right now. A second ring escalates the debate with Kobe. To be top 10 though, he needs 3 at least (or brilliant season after brilliant season). To battle Jordan/Wilt/Russel, he's going to need the 5-6.

Doesn't mean we can't watch him for what he is, that's just that side of things right now (doesn't mean for the future). Mind you though, everyone will ignore this and go all politics tab with HE'S GREATER THAN JORDAN or the other extreme of HE'S NOT EVEN BEST OF THE YOUNG GUYS. It's more of a pissing contest though when those things come out.

Maybe next time Durant.

2 rings puts him in the Kobe discussion? I'm a Celtics fan (and by extension, Kobe hater) and that's absurd.

I was mad when he left because of how he left. Wish he would have stuck with the Cavs and won a title, but some things are just never meant to be. I don't blame him for leaving and I am happy for him. He went through a lot of criticism, some much deserved, but he definitely earned this championship and will go down as one of the greatest.

2 is the number of rings in which Kobe was even arguably the best player on his team.

I think it puts him in the discussion, but me personally, I think 3 by him would match Kobe today (even though he has 5). Now if Kobe keeps getting his team to the playoffs and plays 2-3 more elite years (top 10 in NBA), I think James moves up to Kobe's current spot but Kobe climbs to the edge of top 10 all time.

Kobe has 4, so there's that. That said, I will say no more about LeBron not being clutch. He was dominant throughout the playoffs and didn't choke once. I still think he choked last year though but it doesn't matter anymore.
