Free Radical: jdvthejd: He won't win it because he is not DPOY caliber.

I dunno about that, I think he can win DPOY. He's only 27.

Maybe in the future. But not right now. Jordan led the league in steals 3 times. Lebron has some work to do.

2012-06-21 11:34:14 PM

TheJoe03: Neeek: It just wouldn't happen.

Never heard someone claim that Jordan in his prime would struggle in today's NBA. He would DOMINATE today's NBA, like James dominates it now, but even more so.

No, he wouldn't. The defenses now are much better than they were in his day.

That said, what I said was Jordan would never when DPOY in the league as it is now. Smaller players just plain don't get the award anymore.

Damn I wish the C's had showed up for Game 6 haha

During the trophy presentation, JVG should go hang on Alonzo's leg again. For old times sake, y'know.

You know, for all those chants, I still don't see a single person moving. Also the voices are very female in origin. I swear that the "Let's Go Cena" chant guy is their voiceover guy. That man must do serious bank.

TRIPLE DOUBLE!

jayhawk88: TheManofPA: So how long until this thread gets unbearable with people who start posting for the first time and it just becomes a flamewar over the people who have been typing all series?

It will be kind of interesting to see if the Heat all of the sudden become America's Team.

God I hope not. I like my team just like they are, thanks.

GhettoWinter: While we're waiting for the eventual Heat win I'd like to take the opportunity to say that it's been an exciting season of basketball. I'm already waiting for next season when the Los Angeles Clippers take it all.

You do realize that Vinny Del Negro is coming back, right?

2012-06-21 11:35:37 PM
I'd like to see the rebound numbers. The Heat have owned the boards and second chance points.

Praise the Lord!

dj_spanmaster: kmaywfec: GhettoWinter: basemetal: Langston: Credit to Miami, they've fought for this.

I hope the loss is bitter in the mouths of the OKC players, because it would be great for them to come storming back to the finals next year.

Could be the start of a great finals rivalry.

/hard to get to the finals though.....

I can OKC doing it again. The heat too.

Don't forget the Bulls. The Heat won't be as lucky next year.

Rose will never be the same; ankle injuries will do that. They'll be good, but not as dominant, without some more help.

I thought it was his ACL.

good jorb by lebron to miss to pad his stats for the double in rebounds.

2012-06-21 11:37:28 PM

TheJoe03: redmid17: James is a bigger, stronger version of Jordan minus the serious personality defects that made Jordan the greatest of all time.

But a worse shooter and defender. Jordan had better skills, LeBron's athleticism doesn't make him better, plus it isn't like Jordan was that far behind in that category.

When all is said and done, I don't think it's far fetched to see James overtaking Jordan at everything. The only thing he's really lagging behind on is titles. He's already better than MJ at a few things.

If I know ESPN, we should be in for:
1) People start to recognize that "Okay, James is the best player in the NBA", let's appreciate his performance
2) The Heat are far better than everyone, we always knew this
3) THE HEAT ARE THE GREATEST TEAM EVER AND WILL WIN EVERYTHING FOR THE NEXT YEARS
4) LEBRON IS ALREADY BETTER THAN JORDAN AND EVERYONE WHO SAYS OTHERWISE DOESN'T KNOW BASKETBALL AT ALL

I believe this is about 2 total weeks of coverage, then we will go back to Tebow-Time, then when NBA starts again, we'll pick up at part 4. Basically we will barely get time to appreciate the series because he'll get overrated (even for one of the best players ever) before we can appreciate that he's moved from top 20 to a shot at top 15.

If I know this thread:
It'll be trolls trolling trolls trolling trolls in about 3 minutes gametime.

Bob Dolemite: I'd like to see the rebound numbers. The Heat have owned the boards and second chance points.

If you believe the box score, OkC has 35 Reb, 10 Offensive. Miami 37 Reb, 7 Offensive.

You'd really think Miami would have more what with all the missed shots by OkC.

2012-06-21 11:38:17 PM
Anyway, Congrats Miami fan, you deserve it.

You referring to injuries through the season, or the major one at the end? That was an ACL, not the ankle.

Quite right - not the ankle. Not that that's any better, as far as injury recoveries go.

The Heat are crushing the Thunder with a +2 on the boards and -3 on offensive rebounds. IDK about 2nd chance points.

I'd jump on the ability to make the "Somalian kids congratulate the champion Thunder" joke, but I don't think they did well enough for them to even print those shirts.

LeBron will never be half the baseball player MJ was, that's for damn sure. Suck it, Bron.

This makes 8 rings for Criscohead, I believe.
